Hout Bay Puppy School

I honestly can’t recommend Hout Bay Puppy School and Lucille high enough. Lucille is incredible at teaching us humans not only the basics of getting your pup trained, but also how to read your, and other, dogs body language and behaviours which I must say makes a HUGE difference in day to day social interactions with other dogs - this has helped me navigate many challenging encounters out and about with Gus. What really stands out is how much she genuinely loves every pup in her class. Gus is over the moon anytime we see Lucille which tells me everything I need to know 😉

My 'puppies' are now 13 months, and it's still an absolute highlight for them when we bump into Lucille on walks! I didn't really know what I was in for when I decided to get two pups at the same time and Lucille definitely helped with the new puppy mommy "Angst". Apart from our attending puppy school, socialising and trying to get a handle on basic training, Lucille shared some really useful home tips that made our lives so much easier, helped me understand their behaviour, house train them (clever doggies!) and appreciate their unique little characters. My two are an absolute delight and I would definitely give their Hout Bay puppy school foundation a lot of credit for that!

We really have had the most fantastic experience with Lucille (and Kirsty!) over the past few years with our pups Sugar and Enzo. Puppy school and socializing has been so important for both our dogs, and Lucille is knowledgeable, caring and very patient! Highly recommended.

I am beyond grateful for the incredible journey I’ve had with Lucille in training my four-and-a-half-month-old Cane Corso, Pluto. Lucille is an absolute angel 🙏 her dedication to dogs, especially through her work with DARG, is truly inspiring. Lucille and her team are puppy whisperers! They are incredibly knowledgeable and we found the support they gave us with our new puppy absolutely invaluable! We are much better puppy parents now that we’ve been through puppy school and we highly recommend anyone with a new puppy join Hout Bay Puppy School.

Happy and well behaved pups is really the focus of Lucille's classes. Learning basic commands is a good thing and is included, but I've done that before, I know how to teach sit, wait etc. So, I was more interested in getting my pup to interact with other pups. To learn her tells so that I know when she needs to calm down before playing again. And Lucille's classes delivered. Definitely recommended!

I cannot recommend Lucille and her Hout Bay pupply school high enough. Lucille is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. She is generally passionate about helping both puppies and their owners succeed. What stood out is the patience, encouragement and individual attention that each owner and puppy received. Thanks for training Harry our GSD. He has developed a strong foundation obedience and skills to socialize.
