What a lovely spot in the centre of Johannesburg. You can take a picnic basket and a book, or your yoga mat and join the free sessions when available. The park is divided in 2 parts. Some uphills which makes your heart beat faster but the views are all worth it. Go early, because the parking can be tight. Security was visible around the reserve and the parks are well looked after.

A seriously underrated hidden gem. You step in and suddenly it’s all green lawns, forest energy, and calm walking paths — wild considering it’s right in the middle of Johannesburg’s nonstop chaos. This place deserves real, official recognition because it offers a rare, well-kept nature escape that most people don’t even know exists. Perfect for a reset, a peaceful walk, catching up on a read, or just breathing for a minute. Proof that the city still has beautiful secrets.

Excellent gem in the city. Great for a day out. Very well maintained gardens with lots of picnic areas and shaded benches. Parking is a bit limited and the park does get busy on weekends. There's 2 routes, the hiking and walking. 2 hours is adequate to cover both trails. Excellent views from the hiking trail. Lots of uphills on both trails. Staff is friendly and the aspects of the park is explained on entry. Dogs on leashes are allowed and ample space for kids. Few ponds in the park that are clean.

It is as beautiful as the reviews say! Wish I had come during jacaranda season. Absolutely love the stunning mosaics, and of course, Delaney's artworks. Barring one or two thoughtless clowns who littered at the Jock viewpoint (shame on them!) this is such a wholesome, charming place. The giraffe lawn is a splendid place for children to run about, and you see Joburg at its finest: not just our green spots, but our people too. Parking is scarce - we parked up St Patricks road next to St John's. It is a short walk from there to the gate, but no security. I will definitely be back with friends for a picnic, in this treasure in Jozi's crown.

Well maintained and clearly marked trails. Safe for solo hikers. Family and pet friendly. Perfect spot for picnics. I loved being in commune with nature here and will definitely go back.

What a special experience! So good to see this lovely park well maintained and organized. Justice took us around and thoughtfully explained parts of the walk and the artworks to look out for. Highly recommend you go soon as the Jacarandas are in season and you have great views of them on the skyline.

What a lovely surprise. A perfectly spotless park with not a single piece of litter in sight. Lovely views of the city too. And to top it all, it's totally free.
