The trails are relatively flat and simple to walk along, however, they are very poorly marked. You will get lost many times, even when you’re using the map they provide you with. The service from the entrance is good and straightforward, you pay, get the receipt and the guide map then you start the trail. They have two trails, one with about 4 -6 km, and 21 km. You will spot a couple of animals, mainly antelopes and there’s a variety of bird species for bird enthusiasts. Again, you can do MTB too. Getting there, can be quite confusing, so ensure that you use the Silicon Road, the one passing by Peter Mokaba Stadium.
We enjoyed our our ride in this game park for four hours of viewing different animals ,plants and natural earth stones. Enjoyed picnicking site, enjoyed the humor of the staff at the gate. The game reserve just needs some proper management to maintain this home which made us to feel so refreshed out of urban life
Went here last Sunday. Couldn’t find any information online, so let me help you out. Opening hours: Summer ( 1 oct till 30 apr): 07:00-18:30 Winter (1 may till 30 sept): 07:00 - 17:30 You can just walk in. I didn’t see much animals, because it’s quite bushy. Also the rhinos have been relocated due to poaching risks.
I enjoyed the hiking experience as a day visitor. I did the 21 km hike. The entrance fee was R37 per adult. I was given a map which was helpful. There is a variety of animals from wildebeest to zebras. After the hike, I took a shower but the ablution facilities needs some renovation. There are multiple camping spots with electricity connection. Chalets are also available. I've included prices below. Buy snacks and drinks as they're not sold at the game reserve. It was enjoyable for me and I highly recommend it to others. 😄😄
This is a very quiet, clean and peaceful place for a picnic in Polokwane. Well maintained. You can do a self drive. I payed just below R150 for 2 including the car. This place has such beautiful views.
The facility was just amazing and so clean, the campsite was just what I needed. The ablution block was super clean and properly maintained. During my hike I came across so much wildlife and it was amazing. Big ups to the city and the team on site, the staff was very friendly and helpful
The area was clean, we paid just under R150 for self drive game, van picnic and a walk for 2 people. The road is not well marked, however even when you get lost most roads go to one place. Just make sure you have enough petrol. You can also come through for camping , and hiking . The infrastructure needs a little care, but the nice thing is that it is clean. Please bring picnic supplies(camp chairs , meat, picnic blankets, food, drinks) and braai supplies(coals etc). Bring cash if you can, pos machine available but problematic during load-shedding
