Blue Rain Bed & Breakfast

I jad just travelled over 400km by myself in the rain over mountain passes and reckless truck drivers. I arrived in upingto 22:30 with no place to overnight. Thanks to grace from God the owner was still awake and accepted my online booking. Thank you Mr Botes for the kindness and the excellent service to weary traveller.

Stoffel went out of his way to welcome us. The rooms have good beds and nice linen. The rooms are beautifully decorate. Will be staying there again in October 2018. It is near cbd of Upington. Perfect for family's.

Well, where do I start! Being in the hospitality industry myself, I pick up a lot of detail that gets lost with people who are not in the industry. Arriving at Blue Rain, I was most impressed with the character of the property. Lovely facade, lovely gardens, and a lovely atmosphere. The owner greeted us with overwhelming friendliness though it was very early in the morning. The parking was shaded and secure. The beautiful old french doors opened to a beautiful suite - a wonderful kitchenette and dining facilities, and a breathtaking bedroom that oozes old world charm. The staff members are friendly and accommodating. Though the owner has had to deal with a few other unsavoury guests during our stay, he remained calm and friendly - a very pleasant man. Upington is extremely hot and not really the most pleasant climate in my opinion - not really a destination of choice for vacation - I would happily come back to Blue Rain during the festive season again. Thank you for the most memorable experience!

Guesthouse is in a great quiet neighbourhood, within walking distance to the mall. Even though I t’s very uncomfortable walk, because almost every property has dogs. Host is somewhat accommodating for changes, he has a very subtle unpalatable attitude. Accommodation 6/10. Host 4/10.

Beautifully decorated, extremely clean and comfortable. We had arrived after 19:00 but the host was extremely friendly and waited on us with eyes on the gate/doors so that we had felt warmly welcomed!

For the price we paid this is truly a great accommodation. The guest bath shower does not work but other than that, we were very happy and had an attentive host. Close to the city and easily accessible to all the main malls and touristy sites.
