Akira Animal Hospital

Wow!! Absolutely incredible service! Bianca was lovely to deal with and Vicky was amazing with my dog, Hunter. She treated him with so much care, patience, and genuine love. I could truly see how passionate she is about animals and how dedicated she was to helping my boy feel comfortable and safe. Hunter responded so well to her gentle approach, and I’m honestly so grateful for the way she handled everything. Thank you, Vicky for taking such beautiful care of my boy you’re amazing!!!

I had one of the best experiences at Akira on the 4/11/25. My precious little pug, Web was booked in for a new therapy they are offering called Cryotherapy. He had 2 skin tags and 1 growth Cryo’d. Web is blind, and has very bad anxiety, however when he came back to me after his little procedure he didn’t seem distressed at all - which usually he is. Dr Vicky did a great job, Sr Dina was so kind and gentle with Web too, and she explained to me in detail how it all went and how he was. Ronald, the kennel hand has always been brilliant ( have known him for a while ). Bianca is the receptionist at the front, she was so friendly and welcomed us with open arms. She also educated and helped me with a calming collar for a feral kitten I have rescued. From Dr Vicky, to Dina, to Ronald and last but not least Bianca - my experience was just wonderful. Web and I both felt comfortable and feel safe and happy to return. If you need a sign to take your fur baby to Akira let it be this ❤️ Thank you to the whole Akira team, very grateful; appreciative and thankful !

Absolutely amazing vets! So caring, always following up about my pets health after a visit with a serious illness, so compassionate during our Schnauzer’s illness and came to our home when Bella had to cross the rainbow bridge.. If I had the funds, I would provide them with a 24 hour facility with all the big machines, as I had to go to other big vets hospitals at times when my dogs got sick on a Saturday afternoon, and needed emergency treatment, just to be let down by the lack of care and returned to Akira as soon as they opened.

We visited Akira for couple of times now. Today was not any different, we were received with the biggest smile and amazing care by reception. Dr Vicky as always took the time to listen and as my girl is getting older and new problems arise. They put so much love and attention into looking her over and helping with the best long term solutions. All around amazing.

Most empathetic vet ever. My Staffie was shaking with fear, but the vet sat down flat on the floor next to her and quickly won her over. At the end of the examination she did not want to leave!

I had such an amazing experience with Dr Vicky Louw. Unfortunately we had to put our fur baby to sleep and she was so heartwarming. I would 100% Recommend Dr Vicky and her team to take care of your fur baby.

I have only good comments about Akira, this hospital helped me a lot with the health of my dog and also to prepare documents for exporting my dog outside SA. I am so thankful with the complete team and special appreciation to Ilze! 🙏🏼
