Animal Emergency Centre (Rosebank)

The vet here has a wealth of knowledge. He was able to diagnose and treat our dog who had bad biliary. Our pup is now absolutely fine. I highly recommend this vet. His apparatus may not be "new age" but he uses the old trusty equipment masterfully. I'd go here over Bryanston vet any day of the week for 24 hr emergency vet.

A poisoned dog was brought into the vet earlier this evening and was refused access to see the vet because the gentleman could not afford the deposit of R 4000 for an admission fee. Surely as it was a medical emergency, especially a poisoning of a dog that they could see was in absolutely agony, an exception could have made and had compassion for the owner who is positively distraught. He left a dead dog at home who had succumbed to his poison to try and save his little girl. Is there not a hypocratic oath for animals as well. Totally disgusted and angry that the man at the reception said "it's policy" and wouldn't even let him see the doctor. It's possible that she now might die a slow and positively painful and dreadful death during the night because of this and a devastated family with children are suffering now too. Would appreciate feedback.
