I have sent my dog Nala every December for the last couple years to the hound hotel to Claire and she always returns so happy and healthy. Claire sends me picture updates and is so reliable. They fetch and drop her off. It is beyond convenient and such great service! Thanks Claire and team!
My dogs absolutely love hound hotel. They have tones of fun on their holiday while we are on holiday. They get to socialize with other dogs which is a great plus. We also get photos of our dogs adventures which keeps our minds at ease. They love hound hotel so much that when Uncle Niel comes to fetch them they don't even bother to say goodbye, they just hop into his car and make themselves at home. Yes they might come home a little dusty and dirty but in my eyes that just means they had fun. Plus it's easily fixed with a quick bath.
Hound Hotel is a great dog kennel offering boarding, day care and grooming. A lovely farm, river fronted on 3 sides.
We lost our sweet boy Gucci in the most unimaginably tragic way yesterday, when we thought that he was in a safe place with people we trusted. His little broken body mauled by other dogs while in the care of Claire MacIntosh at The Hound Hotel. We were not notified of the attack and the severity of it for hours after it happened. And Claire MacIntosh ignored all calls and messages, even when we told her that our baby's life was hanging in the balance and the vets needed more clarity to be able to treat him more effectively. This is not OK. It should not happen, he should not have died so violently. And we have a right to know what happened. Claire MacIntosh you seem heartless and callous. You did not deserve to have him in your care.
I had one of the worst experiences of my life and would suggest taking your dog somewhere else. Unfortunately, my dog died while in their care. I had no reason to think that it was anything but the natural causes they said, until they became evasive and stopped replying to me. Furthermore, I was only informed of his death via WhatsApp when I contacted them to arrange a time for drop-off. After this, they did not respond to any of my messages or emails asking for more information and and their phones went unanswered for days. I couldn’t get any answers from them and started to wonder if I was being told the full story. Simple questions like the date of death or where his body was were not answered. They were also not interested in following any wishes I had after my dogs death and everything was done without my consent, including failure to take him to a vet for a diagnosis or the cremation of his remains. When confronting them on a phone call, they became defensive, were disrespectful regarding my grief and eventually ended the call during our conversation. This was the only other time I had contact with them after the one WhatsApp message I received. Something still doesn’t feel right but I’m sure I’ll never know the real circumstances of Milo’s death. I would not want this to happen to anyone in the future and suggest that you please stay away from Hound Hotel. This could have been a positive review out of a very sad situation had the kennel handled the situation better with more timely and respectful communication, and shown more compassion towards me as the dog owner, but unfortunately their behaviour has left me suspicious of the situation.
Bruno's marks on his body is not from playing rough, he has a massive sore on his neck with an infection from being restrained by his collar, We have taken him to 2 vets who spent many years at the spca, both of them are of the opinion he was bitten and constrained. We checked in with you regularly and the only feedback we got was positive and he was having a great time.... Why did the photos stop on the 21st of December? If you received your dog back in the horrible condition Bruno is in, would you be happy? The mere fact that we paid the money we did for you too look after Bruno, should make you understand how much we care for him. It is actually beyond belief that you can just tell me this is rough play, I sent him to you to be looked after and cared for. He is now on antibiotics for 2 months from all the infections he has, so please continue to tell me it was "rough play" and that I must go read your terms and conditions, FYI animal cruelty is illegal in this country, it's not covered in your terms and conditions. So if that is what you are going to be telling me, I will be taking this forward from a criminal perspective
Lovely family run boarding facility in the Cradle near Lanseria airport. Taxi service to collect and deliver pets to and from your home. Lots of activities to keep them busy while at the facility. Only issue is that Google Maps & Ways directions are wrong, but Claire will warn you about it and supply accurate directions on WhatsApp.
