Ladybrand Heritage House

Loved the rooms and the braai area. The beds were comfy. Did not get a chance to use the pool as it was a short stay. Would recommend it for a short stay.

Very comfortable and quiet, rooms 4 and 5 quiet nice, definitely a place to stay at when passing through or for any work related matters and you need a home away from home

My stay was wonderful, and the property had a warm, homely feel. Its proximity to shops and petrol stations made it incredibly convenient. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my family did too.

Biker friendly, very friendly hosts and staff will definitely stay over again when riding through. Rooms are great, and everything is spotless. Interesting historical (old orphanage) building in a quiet, secluded, and safe location.

Definitely a peaceful and quiet place to get admired, will definitely be using this place for future business trips

Ladybrand Heritage Boutique Hotel||||Ladybrand||||No Heat!||||In July 2024 I was traveling as part of a group and a large contingent of us were assigned to this hotel. Of course, July is winter time in South Africa and the overnight lows were below freezing every night. So we all arrive at this hotel and find no heat in the rooms! I was assigned to an outlying cottage, which was nice enough but no heat! The owner had tiny space heaters in the room, but none of them could be plugged into the wall outlets due to mismatched plugs. I finally was able to drag the sole employee over and he was able to find 3 adapters for the space heaters only to find out one didn't work at all. And the other two were way way too small to make a dent in the frigid temperature of my room. There wasn't even out outlet in the bathroom to plug the heater into and no extension cord was forthcoming. So I spent three miserable nights freezing in a room with almost no heat. I spoke by phone with the owner who hung up on me three times, told me to shut up, afterall I was getting three space heaters, what more could I want. He then threatened to have me removed if I didn't stop yelling at him for renting a room in the middle of winter with no heat. Make no mistake, this place has no built in heat system whatsoever and two small space heaters are no where near enough to warm up the space. Perhaps if they had plugged them in and turned them on early in the day I was arriving it might not be so bad, but they didn't even check to see if the mismatched plugs were correct, let alone plug them in and turn them on. And I think space heaters are dangerous and would never allow one in my home. So not only was I freezing all three nights, but I was worried about a fire from the space heaters. So if you want to be warm and cozy, DO NOT STAY HERE! The owner is horrible and doesn't care one iota for his guests comfort. Oh, also there were two automobile sized batteries in the room, plugged in to some electrical wiring. I have no idea what they are for but batteries can leak gases and can explode and shouldn't be in an occupied hotel room. Just crazy. I would NEVER stay here again.
