Hendersons Lodge

This was a very disappointing stay. The accommodation was not clean the sheets were dirty, the bathrooms were unkept, and there were visible splatter stains on the walls, reinforcing how unhygienic the space was. The bedding had brown, blood-like stains and appeared not to have been washed at all before our arrival. When this was brought to management’s attention, there was no accountability, the positive reviews are from the guests allocated the newly refurbished rooms so proceed with caution when booking, rooms 6 and room 3 (perhaps many others) are those allocated to the guests that are deemed less deserving surely, despite us parting with hard earned money. Spending the festive season in these conditions was unacceptable. The pictures are deceiving, the lush garden you see also does not exist. Please please please proceed with caution when booking this place.

The rooms are well decorated, spacious and neat. On both my visits, I had a microwave oven and a little fridge. The bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms were neat and clean. The lodge is in a quiet area, away from noisy traffic.

I arrived the day before Christmas checked in only for me to see that my sheets have a behind print on the bed. I called to inform them that my sheets are dirty they did not bother to apologise for the inconvenience instead they threw a key for another room at me and still the next day nobody bothered to ask me whether I slept well or if I was comfortable in the next room I was highly disappointed.

A warm welcome, comfortable room large enough for our dog crate to be up and have plenty of space to move around. The Lounge Coffee Shop has a friendly relaxed atmosphere and we had the best burgers and chips. Overall very good value for money and will definitely be staying again.

We visited the Lounge coffee shop for an after Parkrun Breakfast. The coffee shop is located in what was the school hall, still complete with high wooden ceilings. The coffee shop furniture was comfortable, with a friendly atmosphere. As one walking into the coffee shop, one encounters the pleasant coffee hue. The menu has a long list of favourites and some very interesting eating and coffee options. The service was good and pricing was fair for what was ordered. There is also the option to purchase coffee beans roasted in house and gifts. There is sufficient parking. I would recommend the Lounge when passing through Senekal.

Did not stay over, but stopped for something to eat at the lounge. I had a beef burger, my wife and sis had a chicken burger. The burgers where excellent, but those chips stole the show. Hand cut almost wedge size, soft inside crispy outside. If you are in Senekal stop and order a dish with chips, you won't be disappointed. The burgers are and chips are all fresh made.

I didn't get a good service. The persona of the person that was helping me was not friendly.
