Maitland Crematorium & Chapel

I’m sorry, but we were utterly disappointed with both the chapel for the service and the hall for the refreshments after the funeral service. The place is very run down. The curtain in the front of the chapel doesn’t open and was lopsided. The microphone didn’t work properly. The pews / chairs were skew. The tables were dirty and dilapidated. The chapel was boiling hot. The bathrooms were terrible. Toilets were blocked. Some of the taps had no water. The sinks were blocked and full of water. Some toilets had no toilet paper. There was no soap. Not enough chairs for old people to sit in the hall next to the chapel where we had refreshments after. The tables in the hall were rusty and dirty. In my opinion you cannot charge for the chapel or the hall in its current condition and it should never be hired out.

My honest opinion about Doreen is that she is an amazing person I have had dealings with her for many years and she was never rude or unprofessional in her line of work stay as sweet and amazing as you are keep up the good work ❤️

Utterly disgusted with the way the manager from Maitland Crematorium, Doreen deals with people. A simple request to assist a family with witness details of the cremation, she found beneath herself to deal with the family, only works with the undertaker. The manner in which she speaks is completely unacceptable and unbecoming of a person in this position and line of work.

Clinton is the kindest and most helpful person. He follows up daily. And he takes every cremation or funeral personally, like it's his family being said goodbye to. The chapel is well looked-after and there is more than enough parking. They also have a small reception hall that one can book to have an intimate event before or after the church service.

It's a lovely place and I had the same experience with that man who called Clinton de Bruyn we certainly didn't get what we paid for it was so disappointing. Be careful with him please .
