What a gem of a stay! We spent time in the 3-bedroom farmhouse at Silwer Karoo Cottages and were completely charmed. The restoration is stunning — from the yellowwood ceilings to the Oregan pine floors, shutters, and doors — every detail feels lovingly brought back to life. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, which immediately made us feel at home. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, including a gas stove, hearth, and all the appliances for a comfortable stay. The décor is delightfully quirky, and the bathroom is a treat — a ball-and-claw bath and a huge shower. Our favourite spot was the bench on the stoep, looking out over the vast Karoo landscape. Even the prickly pear in the planter is heart-shaped! What’s not to love? Oh and to top that, during the week you can buy freshly baked pies and their famous melktert. Fresh and frozen Karoo Lamb, biltong snacks, sweets and little sacekeeps and tokens. We'll be back ❤️💗❤️

I stayed one night during my bike ride across SA. A beautifully maintained and decorated farm house offering clean, comfortable, quiet accommodation in the middle of the Karoo. The farm shop sells a variety of local products, including braai packs. The staff and owner are friendly and attentive. So peaceful and remote. I loved it!

There are few places that can move you to stillness when you live in Gauteng. Silwer Karoo is THE best place to stay around Beaufort West. It is out of the town yet close enough to go for breakfast. The rooms are magnificently decorated and the owners are welcoming and understand guests in a way that only experience can teach. The stars at night are bar none and the walk through the farm is like stepping into history. Outside braai and inside braai ensure that you can enjoy the taste of the Karoo lamb whatever the weather decides. And if you ask nicely, you can ride on the back of the bakkie and go to watch them in action as they herd the sheep in the kraal at dusk. Conveniently located is the farm stall just a brisk walk from the guest house and they accommodate opening especially for you should you want to browse the home made salads, pies, delicious lamb products and all kinds of arts and crafts. We stayed for three nights and it felt too short. Will definitely be back soon. It is peaceful and serene with the commodities that will leave you wanting for nothing. Firstly, Henco, sorry that we arrived so late and that you had to wait up for us. Really appreciated. This place is fabulous. The location is nice and far out of town, far enough away from the road that traffic doesn't bother you and the very cool rustic farm building and decor makes it a fantastic place to stay over at. There are so many features in the decoration of the rooms that is so well thought out, a big shout out to the owners as it really makes the rooms so much more than just a place to sleep in. The braai facilities would have been used if we were in time so hopefully I travel that way again soon and can make use of it then. There is enough cutlery to use, a kettle, stove, microwave, fridge for use to prepare a meal or to keep something cold. The best is the porch early morning to soak up that fresh Karoo morning air.

An absolute gem of a guesthouse on a quiet Karoo farm. The cottages have been beautifully and tastefully decorated with a true artistic using authentic antiques. We had a wonderful braai with the local karoo lamb that we bought from the farmer. Our dogs were welcome and they lived the place as much as we did. I can highly recommend this guest house and will certainly be back. Real value for money.

Just the right place for an awesome night's rest after a long drive from Gauteng to Cape Town, or for anyone wishing to have a farm experience without sacrificing comfort. Silwer Karoo Guest House is a pet friendly self catering safe haven I would definately reccomend to anyone seeking peace and quite. An artist, a photographer or book writer's dream. The lodging is a perfect combination between "the old" and "the modern new" creating a gorgeous rustic ambience with old implements creatively placed everywhere. Stunning view of the expansive Silver Karoo and lovely sunsets. Excellent hospitality. Definately a must stay.
