My trip to the SPCA in Springfield park these 3 times have been extremely pleasant. The staff are very kind and ever helpful to assist. In particular there is a vet there that is amazing!! He is very engaged in his fur patients and his kindness knows no boundaries. My pup, Jasper needed to have a hernia treated. The preparation and process was effortless. Other than my panic, the Team at SPCA were very patient and accomodating. What an amazing Doctor!! Thank you soo much for your care when helping our Boy. We are overwhelmed at how kind and passionate you are about the wellbeing of your fur patients.

We are extremely frustrated by the ongoing visits from the SPCA based on false and unproven claims made by neighbours. Our dog is not abused in any way, yet inspectors continue to arrive at our home without any valid reason. This feels more like harassment than animal welfare. Instead of repeatedly disturbing households where animals are well cared for, attention should be given to cases where animals are genuinely suffering and in need of help. These continuous visits have caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. We ask that this matter be handled more responsibly and that false reports be properly assessed before action is taken.

I love the vets and that most of the staff are quite helpful when there. However, the times that the clinic actually open are only about 4 hours long from 8 am to 12 pm. You cannot phone to make an appointment but if you dont, you wait for hours before appointment people can go in and the system seems severely flawed and impossible to get into. Hopefully, a computer system could help them to make appointments available for more patients.

I took my cat for her yearly vaccines. I also visited the cats at the spca. They have such a beautiful big spacious play place. They also have fans for them. They area where they are kept was neat and clean.

I took my pup for her 6 weeks injection (she was perfectly fine). She then sated getting very sick so I took her back. We then realized she had parvo, which we told the vet. He then done a parvo test which was unnecessary as we already knew she had it. He then told me she was too fargone and we had to put her to sleep. Upon leaving I was told to pay R735 , I am unemployed and asked y was the bill so much. I was charged for a consult, a parvo test and to put her to sleep. We recently got a new pup and took her for her 6 weeks, again she was perfectly fine, she comes home and starts getting very sick, she is presently again back at the spca .. why r all the pros getting sick upon arriving home? I have sent 2 emails , still with no response. Losing all our beloved pets that get their six weeks injection ????? Need answers?????

Really long waits of up to 4 hrs even with appts. Longer if your late for appts, but really good helpful vets. Female receptionist are very uninterested. Phones go unanswered for hrs at times esp at clinic and hospital. Appt wait times can be days. Prices are onky slightly cheaper than private vets

Lovely, friendly staff and a little Cafe with homey food for sale. Dogs look healthy and kennels are kept clean. Would definitely recommend adopting from here!
