Avalon Springs

Stayed in a self catering mountain chalet. Accommodation is large and very comfortable. Lots provided in the rooms. The gardens and pools are well maintained - the best part of the place. The bar is great - the staff know how to mix a decent cocktail. Perhaps evening swims with less kiddies would be nice. Will be returning.

Staying nearby I went for a day visit. It was quite an interesting experience though I didn't stay long and wouldn't go back. It is best for families. There are several small pools and a long water slide which children were enjoying. The pools may have been filled from hot springs - the one I went into was certainly warm - but they are polluted with chlorine so you don't get the benefit of the natural waters. There are picnic areas, a beach volleyball court, and outdoor chess. The women's 'changing room' is a public toilet; you either change in the communal area or in one of the toilets. There are no lockers and you have to bring your own towel. On the day I went it was windy and a lot of leaves and twigs were blowing into the pools, but there was no strainer by each pool for people to get them out easily, and nobody seemed doing that as part of their job either. There were probably 40-50 people on site, and the pools were quite full; the website suggests the capacity is 200 and I think it would be unmanageable with that many people. I was advised by a local person to go on a weekday rather than at a weekend, because more people go at the weekend, so I did that and I'm glad I did.

I just spent the weekend at Avalon Springs and it was a really great experience. From the bath robes and nicely rolled towels for the spa the attention to detail was incredible. What was of course the best was the fantastic staff from the gentleman that opened the boom to the amazing staff at the restaurant. Special thanks to Celeste, Madalena, Charmonay. We appreciate you.

Amazing resort. Stunning pool area. We stayed in the self catering chalets. It’s decent but there were a few faulty door handles and old furniture. Limited dish washing liquid to wash up. Only 2 cloths. And no mop to clean. Service was great. Quick response to anything we needed.

Our tour group once again enjoyed our favourite place! We enjoyed every minute of our 4-night stay. The staff was wonderful and we also enjoyed the water. Avalon Springs is the place to be! You deserve all the accolades! Thank you!!

I cannot rate this establishment high enough. The premises are well kept, all staff absolutely excellent. (I actually don't know how they do it) The choice of about 8 warm pools which are clean and open 24/7 for hotel guests is fantastic.The hotel buffet breakfast is crazy excellent. All good, but the level of staff helpfullness (all wearing name tags) blew me away. We will be back ....... regularly. Thank you.

Our recent vacation at Avalon Springs was absolutely amazing. First of all, what a beautiful place — the surroundings are peaceful, well-maintained, and truly relaxing. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The resort is very clean, well organized, and felt safe and secure at all times. It is also very child-friendly, which made it perfect for our family. We had an incredible time, and the breakfast buffet was a solid 10 out of 10 — fresh, delicious, and with a great variety. All in all, it was an amazing holiday at an amazing place. We would definitely recommend Avalon Springs and look forward to visiting again.
