De Bos Backpackers and Camping

A perfect family adventure in Montagu We had the most incredible 4 days at De Bos Backpackers & Camping in Montagu. Myself, Clint, and the kids spent time camping and rock climbing, and it was honestly one of our best outdoor getaways yet. The setting is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, well-maintained, and surrounded by nature. The camping area felt safe, spacious, and ideal for families, with plenty of room for kids to explore while adults can truly relax. Being so close to world-class rock climbing was a massive bonus and made the experience even more special for us. The atmosphere at De Bos is welcoming, laid-back, and perfectly suited for adventurers and families alike. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, reconnect, and make real memories together. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for camping, climbing, and anyone looking for a wholesome outdoor escape in Montagu 🌿🏕️🧗‍♀️

We spent one night camping at De Bos Backpackers, and overall it was fairly alright for a backpackers-style facility. The campsite offered enough shade, which we appreciated, although there wasn’t much grass in the camping area.||||The ablution facilities were reasonable, though they are shared between male and female, which felt a bit unusual for us as we’re not used to that setup.||||A special mention must go to Carol at reception — she truly has a larger-than-life personality and is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added a positive and memorable touch to our stay.||||All in all, a decent option if you’re looking for a simple overnight stop at a backpackers establishment.

Had Thee Best Time with my mates at De Bos. Carol's service was excellent and friendly and she made us feel like we were at home. She also kept all our stuff we left behind. Facilities were neat, hygienic and in great shape. Definitely going back, thanks again Carol!

Clean, secure, well run camping (and rooms) in the heart of Montagu. If I HAVE to nit pick, then I would suggest the locals be reminded to slow down when driving past campers on their way to the pool. Not only is this unsafe, but the dust is not welcome

We had comfort and tranquility at De Boss. It was quiet and peaceful. The Kitchen was well-equipped and that made it easy to prepare meals. The showers were hot and the stands were shady.||We'll definitely be back.

Very relaxed environment with plenty of activities for kids! Andy was polite and accommodating. Great to break up a long journey.
