Beautifull venue, owner Lana very accommodating and friendly as is her Family members assisting at the venue. Will definately visit and stay pver again on future.

We visit Montagu twice a year, and make a point of visiting MonTQ every time we visit. The owner, Lana, and all her staff are extremely professional, and treat us like family when we are there. Their pancakes and fries are delicious. We find it extremely relaxing to have a glass of wine with something to eat next to the pool. The pool in the December heat is to die for. The rooms are very neat, and have air-conditioning, which is a must have in the December heat. Their little shop stock some of the most elegant items and is a treat to browse through. Spoil yourself with a stop at MonTQ next time you are in Montagu.

We were treated to a warm welcome by the owner Lana her team. Lana also had a complementary bottle of bubbly as we told her that we were on a road trip celebrating our wedding anniversary. The setting was amazing, there are various areas on the property to sit and relax. The property is situated walking distance to the popular restaurants and pubs. On Lana’s suggestion for a local pub, we tried Mitchell’s Pub which was great. The breakfast was superb, pity we ate is all before taking pics. Will definitely stay again when in this part of the woods.

With the exception of the cricket that decided to make cricket sounds in our room during the night. The accommodation was absolutely fantastic, staff were great all the amenities you will/might need. We stayed in the self catering room. Food was delicious too. Loved the beautiful garden and pool. Montagu is an amazing town

What a great stay we had (9 days). Our host Lana was very informative about the area in and arond Montaqu ,and we managed to visit most of the attractions. Abraham made our stay very pleasant in taking good care off all our needs. We can recommend this establishment . ps. Breakfast and lunch is also very good.

Lana, the owner has high standards and her phenomenal style can be seen in her decor, choice of products and the awesome vibe that she creates. The interior is significantly designed to encapsulate the Montagu scenes. Beautifully done with food that makes ones mouth water. Thank you Lana for bringing such an enjoyable space to Montagu. Firstly I'd like to start off by saying, if I could rate our experience at @MonTQ Accommodation -10, I would gladly do so. I am perplexed by the positive ratings and recommendations for this guesthouse as they certainly do not meet basic standards from a service delivery perspective. The experience was extremely disappointing and disheartening, and I feel compelled to write this review to avoid subjecting other guests to similar experiences, those who expect basic respect and decent treatment Upon arrival at MonTQ Guesthouse, my family, friends and I were greeted with overwhelming paint fumes in one of our assigned rooms. The fumes were so strong that it was difficult to breathe comfortably considering kids were also with us. When we addressed this issue with the host/owner Lana, she was dismissive and unapologetic. When I requested whether she can move us to a different room, she just nonchalantly responded, ''there is nothing I could do about the fumes, the rooms are fully booked''. This response was shockingly unprofessional and unhelpful. When I was getting ready to bath my son, we found that there was no hot water in the room. Bear in mind, it is 3 degrees in Montagu, my 5yr old had such a bad cough already and I needed to get him ready for bed. When I informed the owner of this issue, she insisted that there was and the manner in which she spoke to me was in such a degrading manner, like I cannot understand basic language. In her response to me, her words ''there is nothing I can do about the water issue now and I am not coming to your room to check it out''. My husband ended up sending her a message in which case she then rushed over to our room, swung the door open and in a very angry voice, insisted there is nothing wrong with the hot water supply. She was speaking over us, the more we tried to explain to her the situation and kept on saying ''no, you keep quiet and you listen to me'' and even commented that we can pack our bags and leave her property, even though she knew we had our kids with us. That is what we subjected to. She then left us to deal with cold water in the meantime. This lack of basic amenities is unacceptable, especially when traveling with children and when guests are dealing with significant issues. The host's attitude was not only rude and disrespectful but also felt discriminatory. As people of colour, we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Her demeanor and the look of disgust on her face when she swung that door open in anger, made it seem as though we had stepped into an apartheid-era environment. It was a deeply unsettling experience and an unpleasant stay. We were booked from 02 - 04 Aug but checked out early Saturday morning as we cannot subject ourselves to this type of treatment. She offered no solution, nor any apology for the lack of service delivery and her utter disrespect. I DO NOT RECOMMEND MONTQ ACCOMMODATION AT ALL!!! RESPONSE TO HOST LANA AS AT 05 AUG @ 13:45 I am deeply disturbed by your baseless allegations regarding our recent stay, claiming that we were intoxicated and posed a threat to your safety. These accusations are not only false but also prejudiced and defamatory. At no point during our stay were we intoxicated or behaving in a manner that would justify such claims. The insinuation that we were drunk and threatening is entirely baseless and seems to be an attempt to deflect from the real issues we raised—namely, the lack of hot water and the overwhelming paint fumes in the room. It is concerning that instead of addressing the legitimate complaints we made about the conditions of the accommodation, you now resorted to making derogatory and prejudice remarks based on our skin color. We were treated disrespectfully and dismissed when we brought up our concerns, and now we are being falsely accused of behavior that never occurred. This is a serious issue, and it reflects a blatant disregard for equality and respect.
