PAWS Haven

This rating is for the Vet and not the establishment. I complained about my adopted dogs milk teeth, specifically the canine teeth that had still not fallen out. Dog is already 10 months old. I asked to remove the teeth while she was under and getting spayed. Vet said, not to worry, they will fall out on their own eventually. Now she’s 1 year and the milk canines are stuck to her new canines and she now needs to go under general anaesthetic again to have them removed. Save the animals, and do not trust the Vet at Paws. This Vet should not have access to animals.

If I could give 100 stars, I would! PAWS Potchefstroom is truly a God-given place, filled with people who have an extraordinary love for animals. They give their all to care for the tiny furry lives that are welcomed with open arms at PAWS, and they deserve only the very best for the incredible work they do. Michelle works with the cats and has created the most beautiful outdoor cat sanctuary. Please do yourself a favor and visit the little felines at the back — they would absolutely love your company! 🐾 DONATE, DONATE, DONATE! PAWS needs the support of the community to continue the amazing work they are doing. The dogs can also be taken on walks by volunteers, which makes for a rewarding and joyful experience. It’s simply an amazing place to be, and I highly recommend getting involved in any way you can.

I haven't visited PAWS yet, but 2 of my doggies got out on separate occasions. Being new in town and not knowing where to start looking. It was great to be referred to them. It cost R450 every time to get them back. You should keep that in mind. All the dogs & cats have beds to sleep on. As I was told. This is amazing, and no matter how many times I contact them to enquir, the staff is always friendly. I picked up a stray, and they sent someone to my office to collect him.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! We took our puppy to be sterilized a week ago, when we went to go fetch her she was very depressed and in pain, they gave the wrong pain medication for her weight and because of them not cleaning the equipment properly and not putting the stitchesin properly, my puppy got a very bad infection and I had to take her to the vet in 2 days of her being sterilized, to be given antibiotics, I almost lost her because of this! She's doing much better now, after taking her to Bult Veterinarian Clinic. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone to take their puppies there to be sterilized!!

It's amazing to see a shelter that looks after the animals soo well, the cages are always clean, dogs get walked by volunteers and every time i visit the cats you can see they are healthy and well fed, they are very social and clearly get constant attention

Jack was adopted by my son Kurt and girlfriend Kashan a couple of years ago. He is now with us as he and our other dog bonded quite well. Jacks, as we call him now, is the best trained and mannered dog we ever saw . Tx to Paws for the long years he was with them. Its clear that they took great care of him and trained and groomed him very well for a perfect home. I would love to know Jack's background and why he ended up at Paws!! We really enjoy Jacks. Specially my wife!! He loves to cuddle with her!!
