Dogtales is an amazing agency! Yolanda was our petsitter for our dog and two cats - she has gone the extra mile for them. Her attention and care towards them were really amazing. She is responsive and an amazing petsitter. Our pets definitely made a lifelong friend!! ❤️ We highly recommend her and Dogtales!!

The service we received from Dogtales was fantastic and has brought so much peace of mind to our family. The trainer visited our property and helped us understand why our dog was becoming so protective of our children. The session was incredibly insightful, and we left with a clear plan. Now, we feel equipped to manage our dog and kids harmoniously when external influences come in, and thus prevent tension before it starts. It’s a huge relief to have a better understanding of our beloved dog, and what he's actually experiencing. Highly recommended for any family needing compassionate and effective dog behaviour support.

What a great experience for me and my pup! You can tell that the trainer at Dogtales is very passionate about what she does and genuinely has the pups best interest at heart. At Dogtales puppy school we didn't only learn how to train our pup but also how to understand and interact better with my new little partner creating a much closer and deeper bond.

Have used the service numerous times to house sit and look after our 3 kitties and small pup. Communication is amazing and our animals have loved every sitter who's helped us. Very reliable and attentive and always on point. Highly recommended.

We booked Dogtails for a 10-day, 24-hour in-home pet sitting service as our dogs have anxiety and require consistent companionship while we travel. Unfortunately, the experience did not align with what was promised. Firstly, there was no reliable way to reach Sheri in case of emergencies. We understand everyone needs rest, but for a service marketed as 24/7 care, there should be a protocol to handle emergencies after hours. We had an incident where our camera system alerted us to a potential fire (later a false alarm), but there was no way to contact the sitter promptly, and our concerns were met with a defensive attitude rather than understanding. The sitter left the premises multiple times during the stay, often without notifying us, directly contradicting the promise of continuous presence. We did not pay for "best-effort" care; we paid for 24/7 in-home care to reduce our dogs’ stress. If Dogtails cannot provide true 24-hour presence, this needs to be communicated transparently beforehand. Whenever we raised concerns—politely, and only to understand how to address issues for our dogs’ well-being—we were met with defensive and dismissive responses instead of accountability or solutions. Basic tasks like cleaning up after the dogs were not performed consistently, despite clear instructions and video demonstrations. We left the home freshly cleaned before departure (we brought a domestic in for a full service just 12 hours prior to our departure), but instead of maintaining basic cleanliness, the sitter complained about dust and the blankets we keep for our senior Great Dane’s comfort. Managing minor cleaning is part of any responsible long-term stay, particularly when resources like a washing machine were offered but never used. While our dogs remained safe and fed, the lack of consistent presence, poor communication around emergencies, and unwillingness to handle basic upkeep did not meet the standard we expect for professional in-home pet care. We hope this feedback helps others who require truly reliable, continuous in-home care to make an informed decision. Update (following owner response to above) I'd like to point out the conflict-ridden nature of our relationship - notice how we are fighting. This isn't nice, this isn't what we wanted, we don't want to be under attack nor attack anyone, but we feel under attack. We didn't even want to post a public review, we gave her feedback in private, and then we heard she started sharing our personal details without our permission to bad-mouth us to others which is illegal (unproven to be fair, but we have reported it (POPIA)), so of course we wanted to stand up for ourselves. She mentions we only brought the absence issue up after the relationship went sour to undermine our review, which is false firstly, because we brought it up actively while it was happening, hence the comments about her defensive approach to our complaints... but she also neglects to mention they didn't raise any of their concerns about dust/hygiene until weeks after this 10-day sit when we requested potential short-term stay assistance. When we did, it was clear the sitter had not raised her concerns about cleanliness to the owner at all. If it was such an issue, wouldn't you raise it while you're there so it could be addressed? Only 3-4 weeks after the 10-day sit had happened, when further assistance is requested, suddenly the home at the beginning of the prior 10 day stay was not good enough? It makes no sense. For longer stays, the relationship with your sitter/sitting agency needs more maturity, there needs to be a relationship built from adult conversation so that we can work together to create a suitable environment that works for us all. Instead, with Dogtales you will find a defensive, intolerable, dishonest agency who would make it difficult for anyone to sustain a long-term long-sit business/client relationship.
