Woolworths New Redruth Alberton

One of the best Woolworths in the Alberton area which is very neat and clean.the staff are very friendly and taking care of this place in good condition 😀.

So disappointed with the service given to me by a teller(who's name I did not get) and especially from Sam the Admin Manager of the store. My son, now living in Ireland has twice before converted his Old Mutual points into vouchers which he gifts me. Twice I have been to the store and had them redeemed on my Woolworths voucher card with absolutely no problem. He sent me a third one and all of a sudden it is a problem converting them. Sam very clearly said it cannot be converted as they want his ID book/card, of which I have a copy on my phone. I asked why it was not a issue in the past and now it cannot be done. He was going to enquire with the regional office and come back to me yesterday. No phone call received. Today I call him and he again has reiterated that he cannot help unless he has the ID. He still ran the stores staff down saying the ones that converted the vouchers are not aufeit with the policies ..... wow that says a lot for the staff in the store. I have spent nearly the equivalent of the voucher just trying to sort this out. Had we known that a retailer like Woolworths had such a bad attitude we would have converted them to Pick n Pay vouchers instead. An aeroplane ticket is going to cost a lot more than the R400.00 voucher just to bring his ID book. So do I just kiss R400.00 away? Being a pensioner it is not an amount to be sniffed at. I would like a response to this issue. I asked Sam for the Regional office telephone number which he has refused to give me. Shame on you Woolworths. Wished I had picked a day where the staff are not clued up on policies. What is the next step in order to redeem this small voucher??

I have been using this specific Woolworths for years now and I enjoy going here as the staff is helpful and it’s close to home. I have unfortunately noticed that stock is a constant problem at this particular store. Almost every time I am there to shop, they are out of stock of one of the items on my shopping list. Today they were out of fish cakes and hummus. I unfortunately think I will be going to the Meyersdal Woolworths from now on as they have more stock and variety there. I love the staff here but the stock needs to be sorted out in all honesty.
