Petit Animal Hospital

My path crossed with Dr Petro in October 2025. From the moment I stepped into the clinic until the day I sadly had to say goodbye to my fur baby in November 2025 and to Dr Petro in December when I had to go and fetch my fur baby's ashes, I knew that I had met the most kind, caring and loving veterinarian ever. She stood by us during the most difficult time ever, supported us and helped us with the process of losing a pet. She truly is one in a million and I cannot thank her and her team enough for what they did for our family, I am forever in debt with her. Simply the best place to go - I highly recommend - If I could rate this place a million stars, I would!

We took our Boerboel to her he was busy dying from tick bite fever. The vets quick action and care saved his life , we didn't think he would make it. She kept me updated all the time about his progress and sent me videos of him recovering. I would definitely recommend her. Thanks Doc for saving my baby's life!!

You have given so much of yourself to help the community and save so many animals over so many years, I and many others I'm sure, will always be thankful to you Doctor. It is with a very heavy heart that we say goodbye to Doc Petro. For almost 30 years she was the only doctor I trusted with the care and wellbeing of all my fur kids. Enjoy your retirement Doc and thank you from the bottom of the hearts of all the Doig Doggies and their mom and dad for everything you did for us and all the shelter and community doggies you healed and saved 🩷🩷🩷

I first found Dr. Petro during an emergency with one of my little dogs, when my usual vet wasn’t responding to their after-hours line. Since then, she’s cleaned my dog’s teeth beautifully, and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive past every other vet in Johannesburg to reach her. Her care and expertise are truly unmatched!

I have said it before and I'll say it now. One of the best vets around. Unfortunately my adopted doggy has got cancer and it's to far gone to have it cut out. I was advised to have her put to sleep but she still looks so happy and not in pain. So I decided to try make her life as good as possible for the time I have left with her. She has been abused for 5 years could not put her to sleep without showing her she is loved.
