Brenda and her team are awesome! They always take great care of our little boy, and we never worry about leaving him at the Cat Shack when we go away and can't take him with us. The pricing is reasonable too! Highly recommend 🥰
terrible place…i adopted my kitten from here about a month ago and ever since then constant vet visits to find out he has FIP…she was so rude to my family when we had told her…if u want a healthy cat don’t adopt from here this wasn’t my first bad experience with her as i adopted a kitten from here previously and he was also sick. it was my mistake coming back. there’s other places that look after their animals better and for a lot cheaper then what she is charging. i feel bad for these cats with all these sickness around them they deserve better.
Brenda at the Catshack is a very special person with a big heart. She rescues cats and finds homes for them. I have personally got two cats from her. She has boarding facilities if you go away or your cat needs Quarantine.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CATS HERE My mother in law took her cats here - here is her review that gets removed by the owner. I owe this to my 2 cat baby boys, my children to write this. I've known Brenda for years & even adopted Astro from her So, when the decision was made for my partner to join me overseas, as I was recovering from a huge surgery ,we loved our 2 boys so much they had to come. They were to fly through Petport & of course I would appoint Brenda to safely look after our babies. They had already had their vaccines and the vet commented on how beautiful they were, both weighed 9kg. I don't know how many times I had told Brenda that they would ONLY eat dry Whiskas biscuits. Therefore the food should have already been bought in preparation and my boys should have been put in a separate cage with their whiskas bowls to eat AWAY from other cats.THEY DID NOT EAT KIBBLES OR BOILED CHICKEN HEADS! The final video call when Brenda picked them up on 27 April 2025 she reassured me that she was going to buy a big packet of dry Whiskas right now. LIAR!!!! I asked for photos which rarely came or she said they were blurred etc so I trusted that they must be fine. Face time calls were only once .Finally mid July 2025 all documents were ready and flights were about to be booked. I suddenly received a phone call from Brenda she was at the vet with both of them, I will never forget that call! why why why?oh " how old are these cats? "says Brenda 😠 Ernest was my emotional support baby throughout my illness, he was 9. Foxy his little friend was 5 but on looking through old pics he actually was only 4.I speak to the vet? Foxy borderline kidney failure and in liver failure. Ernest in liver failure 😢 😭 Don't know if they'll make it. WHY WHY WHY??????Both cats had lost at least 3.5kg since they went to cat shack. The fat with rapid weight loss drained into their livers and they were skin and bone and could hardly walk. Had this been picked up way earlier they would have recovered.Foxy died first and Ernest 2 mornings later. We are broken 💔 Even if you have troubles in your life Brenda you are running a business with people's live treasures. You should have hired extra help and as for your workers, they should be fired!!!! My boys died of total NEGLECT & I am still heartbroken and disgusted with CAT SHACK. My partner and I still cry about it. NO IT WASN'T GOD'S WILL BRENDA OR JUST 'ONE OF THINGS ' as per your words. it was cruel and PURE NEGLECT. Your task was to look after my babies so that they would arrive safely to us. I have photos of two fit healthy cats being picked up by you and at the end unbearable pics of two cats suffering, couldn't walk , skin & bone and unbearable to look at 😢My babies never had a voice to say ' I'm hungry, I'm freezing please i feel so ill. NEVER USE THE CAT SHACK if you love your animals Please 🙏
We have adopted here multiple times, one of our cats are now 9 years old, we have two other kittens that we adopted last year that are growing up so fast, I’ve had horrible experiences with other rescue centres and Brenda is honestly one of the best, she has the biggest heart and goes out of her way for each and every one of those beautiful kittens, with each fur baby comes its own set of problems and she always does her best to ensure that each one of them gets all the help they need, we need more facilities like this. Some things are out of people’s control, I.e illness. Everything at the Catshack is so sterile and you can clearly see that these kittens and cats are well looked after. I can’t be happier and more thankful for all the hard work you do for each of these fur babies ❤️
We adopted our newest kitten from the Cat Shack and we have housed our cats in their cattery while we’ve been away. Brenda and her team are fantastic. It’s lovely to see how they go out their way to create a safe and happy environment for the animals that stay there, as well as helping animals finding their forever homes.
Adopt don’t shop, that’s what you’ll hear. Let me give you the reality of adopting. I adopted my baby a month ago, 2 weeks after bringing her home she started getting a bit flu-ish and I took her to the vet. The vet drew blood and confirmed that she had an infection and put her on meds, mind you it takes about 3-4 weeks to show or develop symptoms. When you go to adopt your fur baby they make you sign a waiver stating that there aren’t any signs of illness and that they’re not liable for anything that happens to the animals after they leave the shelter. The vet confirmed that my baby had gotten the infection from the shelter that turned out to be FIP. She’s been with me for a month and today I had to say goodbye to her. These animals are in seemingly good condition as far as the eye can see but a very large amount of them have some sort of underlying, usually fatal disease. So I have lost my best friend due to lack of transparency and testing. And I understand it’s expensive to test every single animal but if you’re trying to help them, help them properly. Once one cat has a fatal disease, they are all at risk of getting it. Since my baby got sick I was told about at least 10 other cases from this shelter where kittens pass away from a horrible disease or they have lifelong illnesses. Never again. Please don’t put people through this and more importantly, stop putting the animals through this suffering and pain.
