East Head Café Knysna

OMG has this place changed over my lifetime, and now it's by far the best its ever been!! Breakfast was sensational 🤙 and service was exceptional. All the staff were full of smiles and extremely friendly and even more helpful when deciding what to eat. The smoothie bowl was more than just a smoothie bowl, with sweet wonderful fruit, spiced toasted nuts and toasted coconut flakes. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something fruity for breakfast. The peri peri chicken livers were my favourite, something known in SA and when I grew up there. The spice level was perfect with added sweetness and rich sauce, the livers were perfectly cooked and slightly pink inside, paired with a perfectly fried egg and sourdough. Definitely the best chicken livers throughout our trip. When back in SA we will visit again and I highly reccomend anyone passing to make the pit stop, and you will definitely love the views 🤙

The cafe over looks the Knysna bay entrance. Its a stunning view. Breakfast was good. The staff were very pleasant and polite. It was a wonderful way to start the morning.

The best place In Knynsa for breakfast. It's tough competition but this comes out on top. Great service always, happy staff, great coffee, amazing food, unbelievable views. Great for families.

The location is fantastic and the view is stunning, which clearly makes this a popular restaurant. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t quite live up to the setting. The menu feels more like typical bar food—mostly deep-fried fish and hamburgers. The prawns were overcooked and bone-dry, and also overpriced. It’s a place with great potential, and it could easily be a real gem if a bit more care and attention were put into the food preparation.

Came here for lunch based on a recommendation from a local and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommended to sit outside on the terrace with the views of the knysna heads. The food, service and overall atmosphere is nice and price is very good value for what you get. Seafood dishes were good and the desert was very tasty. Highly recommended if you’re in knysna to come here for lunch or dinner.
