​Dear Checkers, ​I am writing to complain about a recent transaction at your store on 24 Nov 2025. The issue involves the misapplication of a promotional offer and the unprofessional conduct of an employee named Dorothy. Misapplication of Promotional Offer the specific promotion was advertised as "Buy Three and get thw cheapest one free" on toothpaste products. Based on this advertised special, I purchased three toothpaste items, expecting the third, lowest-priced item to be complimentary. ​However, the employee, Dorothy, informed me that the special required a different interpretation, stating, "you must buy 3 and then you get a cheap toothpaste free." This interpretation contradicts the clear language of the special mentioned and resulted in me being incorrectly charged. ​Further more unprofessional Staff, I was highly dissatisfied with the employee's overall professionalism and attitude during this interaction. Specifically: ​Lack of Knowledge: The employee appeared unfamiliar with the terms and conditions of the advertised special. ​Inappropriate Language: The employee used a language (Zulu) that I do not understand to communicate with others in my immediate vicinity. This created an uncomfortable and exclusionary atmosphere. Staff should maintain professional conduct and use language that all present clients can understand when discussing business matters in a public setting.

Its no longer pleasant to shop there with all the people packing Checkers 60 items, we understand they are pressed for time but the running around there and almost crashing into us really makes shopping unpleasant

Good for Middelburg. Just wish they would keep all products consistent and so that thing aren't available one month and not the next.

Clean, good service and you can now refill your water drum at R1/litre

We were looking at the bread in the deli. Looked so nice and then.... We saw the flies sitting comfortable on them. No body to chase them. I lost my appetite... Phoning in several times. Transferred to the manager... They never picked up.

Spacious as other Checkers and it there's enough parking just outside the store

Always well stocked shelves. Great and fresh produce. A Wide variety of cheese including some non dairy cheese that is nowhere else in town. There is always great specials, which helps with extra saving!
