Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital

I have rarely come across a team who genuinely care about animals they way this team does!! On every single one of my dealings with JWV I have been blown away by how far above and beyond this team will go to care for the animals they care for. The facility is incredible. If I could rate higher. I would.

So pleased to have been able to finally visit this incredible veterinary hospital myself with one of our student groups! What a great facility, with awesome, passionate and knowledgeable staff so willing to share with our group!

We took an injured Barn Owl here on 24 Dec 2025 and it was treated for a broken wing and leg and after 6 weeks it was released back into the wild. Very friendly and dedicated staff always ready to assist in a wildlife crisis. You guys are awesome and a true beacon of hope in a cruel world

Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital showed extraordinary compassion and professionalism when we brought in a small Laughing Dove that had been attacked by a cat. Although the dove could not be saved, the team treated us and the bird with kindness, clear communication, and empathy. We are deeply grateful.

What can be said about the heroes and heroines of this place. Epic, emotional, educational, heart warming, concerning, concerted- there is too much to say about the nobility of this work. What is however not too much, is the donations, time and efforts needed to keep such Vitaly important movements alive. However you wish to do it, But..... do it...!!! 🙏💫 We all in it together guys 💞

This organisation does amazing work. They champion for animal rights, fight for justice, heal, care for and love our wildlife. Countless lives have been saved by them. I've been a few times to drop off injured birds and pick up purchases. They are always welcoming and caring. I support them financially and encourage you to do the same.

I found a baby hedgehog in my pool, and the kind staff saved his life. Thank you for all you guys do!
