Bryanston Avian, Exotic & Small Animal Clinic

I would just like to give a very big thanks to Dr. Melissa Marengo, who was very professional and kind. A while back, I had a very sick leopard gecko that was not eating his food, and on the rare occasion that he was eating, he would regurgitate the food after a few minutes. This left me no choice but to consult this exotic and avian veterinarian, who, of course, advised me that it was most likely parasites and that I should bring not only the male leopard gecko but also the female, along with a stool sample. When I arrived, I was assisted by the wonderful Dr. Melissa Marengo, who did a thorough inspection of my leopard geckos to find out if there were any other issues. She then proceeded to take the stool samples and came back with clear images of parasites in the stool. After this, she gave both geckos a parasite flush and provided me with the medication, along with thorough instructions on how to administer it properly and when I should. Since that visit, both of my leopard geckos are back to eating normally again. When a veterinary clinic has wonderful people like Dr. Marengo working there, you can expect that your pet will be given the best possible care.

Absolutely wonderful vet! Brought my rescued Cape Sparrow here after a crushing incident and they took her in, checked her up and gave her an anti inflammatory and they were kind enough to not charge because this whole process took literally 5 minutes - I was hysterical and they handled it with so much love and care. Also brought a baby pigeon here after a cat tried to eat it and they took the baby in to take to a rescue - which is just beautiful because most vets just shrug and tell you to deal. Amazing place, love the people, and the vibe!

I am incredibly grateful to have discovered Bryanston Avian, Exotic and Small Animals Clinic. My fur baby is currently living with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and has seen many vets in Cape Town and Fourways. Without prejudice or doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend Bryanston Avian, Exotic and Small Animals Clinic to everyone in Johannesburg, if not the world. The staff and doctors here truly exhibit care and compassion for pets. For you, it’s not just about earning a salary or making money, though both are important. You show up out of love for animals, and it’s comforting to know that when I bring my pet to you, he will receive the best care possible.Thank you for being the difference!

By far the best exotic vet! After multiple visits and misdiagnostions at another vet, Bryanston exotic vets were absolutely amazing in treating our bearded dragon and the compassion and care they showed to us as well as our baby was just so beautiful!!! They were thorough

I’ve brought my leopard gecko in multiple times over the past couple of weeks due to shedding problems and an infection. Dr Georgie was absolutely fantastic! She is extremely informative and very kind! My baby is now healthy because of her. Thank you so much, Dr Georgie and team!

Had to say goodbye to my hedgehog but the vet was so comforting and patient with us. Though it was painful to say goodbye, she took the time to make us understand what's best for him, also gave us time to sit with him without hurrying even though it was time to close for the day. The receptionists were also so warm and kind.
