Fisherman’s Belly is a great little spot on the South Coast of Durban. The fish and chips were fresh, crispy, and really well prepared. Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality you get. Good service, and overall a very lekker experience. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Drove a long way and waited 45 minutes for our much anticipated order, having read the many good reviews. Best was the chips, really good, but then chips are only chips. The fish was good, nothing special but nothing wrong with it. The big disappointment was the prawn pops. Tiny and dry. Nit prawns, probably shrimps. Nothing like the mènu photo. Priced at R100 . No. No. .

I was disappointed. Been looking forward to buy from them for a while. Chips were stale. Fish was okay but not tasty and calamari was bland but very soft and not chewy. Prawn pops was very nice. I realise it was on a Sunday just before closing but it tasted as if the chips, dough and oil was all old. Staff were very friendly. I will give it another try when we come again later this year.

The freshest, most tastiest fish in town! Hands down recommend this fine take out…children and hubby say its also the tastiest calamari to be had! Highly recommended!

We ordered the family meal with a prawn pop on the side. The fish was very oily, but still tasty. Unfortunately my whole family got sick just after eating it, so we are a bit disappointed 😞

Tasty food, but bad service from the cashier. Refused to let us add spice to the chips, stuck up and stubborn throughout the entire interaction. Will not go back purely because of bad service.

Service was great and the food was excellent. And when I say the food was great, I was really great. Would recommend if you’re in the vicinity.
