Alma Nursery

Alma Kwekery is an absolute gem in Welkom and a must-visit for the whole family. The variety of plants is incredible — and I truly mean a lot. It’s a massive space where you can wander for hours and still find something new. What makes it extra special is that it’s so much more than just a nursery. There are animals like fish, hamsters, and bunnies that kids absolutely love, as well as a beautiful koi fish dam that really captures their attention. It’s such a fun and calming experience for little ones. They also offer beautiful home décor, from stunning cushions and décor pieces to lovely patio sets that inspire you to refresh your home. There’s a charming little bookstore with both Afrikaans and English books, adding a cozy touch. One thing I really appreciated is their DIY section, which is incredibly well stocked. You’ll find water tank pipes, fittings, garden tools, small fences to keep dogs from stepping on your plants, and practical garden solutions. They also have a whole dedicated section just for swimming pool supplies, which makes it very convenient. There is also a large section dedicated entirely to trees. Although I didn’t walk through that area myself, it’s clear that they have an impressive variety and a lot of trees available. At the tills, there are lovely cookies and rusks on display. Even though I didn’t buy any, they really look delicious and are definitely tempting. The restaurant looks fantastic and is clearly very family-friendly, with a great playground, jungle gym, jumping castle, bikes, and more. Although we didn’t eat there on this visit, it’s definitely something I’m excited to try in the future. What really stood out was the staff — they are very friendly, regularly checking if you’re okay and asking whether you need any help. It makes the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. On top of all that, the garden décor selection is amazing, with loads of pots and outdoor décor to choose from. Alma Kwekery truly has something for everyone. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

The restaurant is simply amazing and the variety is really good. The nursery as a whole is a must visit especially for people who love plants and flowers.

Friendly and polite service. Pricing is good in comparison to other major nurseries. His hers and baby toilets, aquarium fish and pet supplies. Lovely restuaurant

Alma Nursery Restaurant, in my opinion has the best coffee that I've had in Welkom. The Mexican Chicken Burger is a must try, the crunch of that burger and the size is absolutely perfect. I've had it a few times and it has never disappointed. Well done!
