Not the best fish I've tasted. Definitely not fresh as the meat was tough and not 'melt in the mouth' fresh. Butter overload so if you really like alot of butter this is for you. The atmosphere was nice though, beautiful view and relaxing. Will try it again... Just not the hake😎
Great spot! We had lunch here, opted for the mussel pot and meat basket - wow, the ribs were too die for! And the roosterkoek? Melts in your mouth. Reasonably priced and a very charming spot with a lot of character. There’s a lot of potential for this spot to be even better, perhaps live music over the weekend? Nonetheless, it was a highlight of our trip!
Wow, what a unique place! It’s something different with a great setup. We really enjoyed the vibe. Your roosterkoek is among the best we have ever tasted. I had the lamb stew, and it delivered beautifully on flavour. Friendly staff and great food all around. We will definitely be back.
We visited Kaai 4 Braai on a spectacular evening. The location is magnificent overlooking the bay and mountains behind. Our kids really enjoyed the play area. The roosterkoek was soft and delicious. Sadly the Mussel pot sauce tasted more like a weird version of chicken a la king. The Mussels didn't seem fresh. The Braaied Hake was ok but not great. We still enjoyed the atmosphere but wouldn't choose those meals if we were to come again.... So we did visit Kaai 4 braai again as wanted our family to experience the magnificent setting. We ordered the Lamb Braai Pack which was absolutely delicious, braaied to perfection with tasty marinade too. I came back to change my review from a 2 star to 4 star. A meal well enjoyed and shared with family!
More of a great experience and vibe of South African foods then a fine dinning experience. Order food and drinks from the bar. We had a local lager, the braiied (in tinfoil) hake, salad, roosterkoek and the mussel pot with samp (corn homily), salad and roosterkoek. Great meal, good prices. Maybe the salad was pretty small.
Great on atmosphere. Rustic setting, self-service, cokd beers. Dash for a shady spot. Good for husbands
This restaurant has a gorgeous view and a simplistic relaxed vibe. Good food. Well worth a visit!
