Safari Outdoor - Lynnwood

So when I was told this was the "Shields" of South Africa I was a little skeptical. After two visits I can confirm that the quality and selection of on par, and the only thing not true about that comparison is the overall size of the store. But hey, everything we do in the US is "Texas-sized" and that's not always a good thing. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a long chat with a lad at the air rifle counter.

This was my first experience to use a gun, to be exact 9mm piston. my journey started from Mr. Zain a sales rep, that guy helped us as we had some issues booking via an app, super cool guy down to earth, keep that way... Our instructor Mr. Alfons guided us and ensured that we carefully adhere safety instructions, very calm guy..Thank you..definetly I'll be back like Arnold Schwarzenegger...lol

What a tantalizing shopping experience. The place is esthetically what South African wildlife is about. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Definitely will be shopping there more often.

I recently visited Safari Outdoor Lynnwood and I must say, it’s by far the best store I’ve come across during my time in South Africa. They offer top-quality brands, and the team truly makes you feel supported throughout your experience. The 50-meter shooting range was a fantastic experience, I tried both a pistol and a rifle, and it was great fun. Special thanks to ZAIN for his help with the mobile app booking issue, and to VAUGHN for sharing his knowledge and guidance during the shooting session. You guys are amazing! Looking forward to visiting again soon. 👏

What a treasure store - I stumbled upon this store when I popped into Lynnwood Bridge & was pleasantly surprised. Not only did this store have exactly what I was looking for, and could not find elsewhere, but also other goods. Beautiful T shirts and clothing, unusual kids toys and ofcourse quality outdoor items A store that is absolutely worth visiting

Racially profiled while shopping – extremely disappointing My sister and I, both people of colour, visited Safari Outdoor on Sunday, 30 November 2025. While we received excellent service from Zain, what happened afterwards left us disgusted and deeply disappointed. After paying for our items, we were followed from the cashiers upstairs all the way to the exit downstairs by a tall, bearded, bald employee named Louis. We were later told that the staff become "paranoid" when management is around, but the fact that we were expected not to notice was even more disturbing. From our perspective, the experience felt like clear racial profiling. There was no explanation, no standard procedure communicated, and no similar behaviour directed at other shoppers. As two non-white customers, we felt singled out, scrutinised, and disrespected. This is not the treatment anyone deserves—let alone paying customers. Safari Outdoor seriously needs to address how their staff interact with customers and examine whether their "standard procedures" are being applied fairly and consistently. We are sharing our experience to warn future shoppers, especially customers of colour, to be aware of how they may be treated in this store. We will not be returning.
