Great spot despite a number of owners that bring their aggressive dogs forcing others to wait outside until the aggressive dogs have had their fun.
Nice space to take your dogs and tbey really try, like providing free bags to use for disposing of yoyr dogs poo. Unfortunately people are tbe real problem, as per usual, and poop gets left without a care or consideration for the next person / pooch that uses the park.
I’ve recently started using this dog park. Could’ve been better if it wasn’t for the excessive amounts of dog poo all over place. These landmines puts a damper on enjoying your time with fur-bud because you’re constantly trying to dodge poo. Take this is a dog user inflicted problem. I really hope the dog owners can be more considerate, to be honest. Shame on ya’ll for not cleaning up after yourself!!!
It is a good , fenced field for the dogs to run. It is not kept well though alot of sticks and stuff fill the ground, but i am sure in the winter it will be lush again. However our dog love running around there sniffing everything and just enjoying the freedom for a change. There are friends now and then as well which stimulates the socializing aspect as well so it has far more possitives than negatives and is a great initiative. The park opposite is beautifull and sometimes we just take the puppies for a walk through there as well 😀.
Took my doggies there for the first time and they loved it , passed out when we got home 🙈 it was clean and safe there was no dog poop!!
According to my knowledge a public dog park is open to all who wish to take their dog to a secure park to engage with other socially well-adapted dogs. The park is free and open from sunrise to sunset. Yesterday was our first (and last) visit to Zoo Dog Park. On arrival there was a Staffie at the gate with a seemingly aggressive nature. He was barking and guarding the gate in an attacking manner. The owner locked herself and the dog in the park. I assume she used her own lock. I was unable to enter. She said to me her dog does not get along with other dogs and she just arrive at the park and will need more alone time with him before we can utilize the area. I was completely stunned as this is not a private park and never have I experienced anti-social dogs at such a park. This selfish behaviour is unacceptable and we will rather visit Boland Dam Park where we have not come across such attitudes.
We go there once a week, usually on a Friday evening . The ruling is that we wait outside while people is still inside.. Normally people do consider those waiting on a turn to enter. Always a pleasure to take your doggies there.
