Crowthorne Small Animal Veterinary Hospital

Our puppy needed an emergency surgery which we decided to do at Crowthorne Small Animal Hospital. During the procedure, the communication from the vet was almost nonexistent and we had to repeatedly call them for updates, which added unnecessary stress. For routine weekly bandage changes, our 4 month old puppy was sedated multiple times without this being clearly explained or alternatives discussed. We were not taken into a consultation room and had limited opportunity to ask questions. There did not appear to be a clear appointment system, and waiting times were unpredictable which really does not suit our busy schedules. The weekly charges for wound management were very high comparatively and remained high due to repeated sedation, itemised charges, and accommodation fees added at each visit despite no formal consultation. Given our increasing concerns with this vet, we made the difficult decision to move practices for puppy’s post operative care. The Crowthorne practice seems to be reluctant to now release our dog’s X-rays (which we PAID for) to us or the new practice despite multiple requests. Adding to this admin got our invoices mixed up for the surgery and gave us another clients invoice with all their personal information on it. POPI violation and poor administration. After changing practices, the same care was provided without sedation, it was deemed unnecessary because our puppy was well behaved and calm, they allowed us to watch the bandage being put on, so we can confirm this to be true. This new practice has provided clearer communication and private consultation. We will not be returning to crowthorne vet.

Dr. Narousha Baldeo saved our dog’s life. After a former vet advised that it was the end of Prada’s life, Narousha took thorough care and ultimately put Prada on chronic medication that has made her live longer and happier. The staff are also very friendly. I would like to, however, review a negative experience I had today: Prada takes a 1/4 tablet every other day, and I have previously asked the vet to always divide the pills for us. When we attempt to cut them up, they crumble. This time, I ordered her next medication on 19 January to be collected on 25 January (today). In my order, I asked that the medicine be cut up. I received confirmation that the order would be ready for collection. When we arrived today, we had to wait an hour and a half for someone to dispense and cut up the medication. This, after I was advised a week prior that they are ready for collection.

Our neighbours kindly referred us to this vet in an emergency, and I’m glad I chose them. The vet is next level on point. Her diagnosis was spot on and our fury boy is home safe - an actual life saver. Receptionists are very kind and understanding. Thank you guys so much. It’s a "one man" band type vet - so be a bit understanding - but the passion for craft is absolutely there - and absolutely appreciated!

Has completely stressed me out about my little guy (cat) telling me he has an intense heart murmur have all the tests done - it’s been TWO WEEKS and no results received - tests done on 25 November, it’s now 11 December - emails and messages have gone unanswered - don’t put your pets life at risk with this vet, LITERALLY go anywhere else! Also to note the admin is really bad - mixed my details up with my family members and then proceeded to complete my existing vaccination card that I brought in WITHOUT ASKING me if they could with my sis in laws details which I had to correct - my payment also reflected the Incorrect details - this is literally the simplest form of data capturing to get wrong.

This small animal vet punches well above its weight. The team, led by Dr Narousha, is compassionate, hard-working, and sincerely love the animals they work tirelessly to treat. Thank you for all you did for Lisa in her golden years, and thank you for all you continue to do for Boo! 💗🩺🐶🐾

Dr. Narousha was great, very helpful and caring and so was Chloë and Zanele. My baby boy was well looked after by all staff, they always phoned to keep me updated and also phoned back (even after hours) to make sure my boy was doing well after discharge. ❤️‍🩹
