Dunelm Gasteplaas - Guest Farm

Beds and pillows were fantastic. Didn't even need to use the one I brought with. View from the units we're stunning. Having the farm animals wonder around the units in the morning was such a treat. Peacefully retreat and close the town. Privacy was great.The owners were very friendly. Would definitely recommend for a getaway to unwind and recharge.

We had a lovely stay at Dunelm. Our cottage was easily big enough for the four of us and nicely fitted out with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. It is an easy quick drive to Clarens but is in an awesome scenic setting of its| own. It is a working farm so there were lots of sheep around, which my daughter loved. We went on two longish walks along the available tracks and got to enjoy nature at its best. We saw plenty of game and an old memorial for soldiers who died in the area in 1900, 'For King and Empire'. We would definitely recommend this for families with children ages 6-14 who want to get outdoors in a safe environment, or anybody who just wants to chill out and maybe pop in to Clarens for a look.

We had such an amazing stay at Dunelm Gasteplaas! Absolute tranquility! Upon arrival we were greeted friendly by the owners and the cutest donkeys! Dunelm immediately felt like home. After getting to our beautiful chalet, equiped with everything one might need, we took a walk on the beautiful farm and encountered many animals. Close enough to Clarens and Fouriesburg if you need anything, yet far enough for a proper escape. We will se you again soon, Dunelm! Walking trails criss-cross the farm, taking in on its way the overhanging cliff, poplar forrest, San rock art, the Surrender Hill Boer War Memorial and for the sentimentally inclined two well kept boer-war graveyards and a Boer War Memorial for seven British soldiers who died in battle. Lots of game roam the farm. The farm has got spectacular nature scenes.

Stunning, tranquil and relaxing. We visted Clarens for a friend's wedding and slept over at Dunelm Gasteplaas. Rooms were clean and tidy, and to our surprise we were greeted with a sweet treat on the pillowcase! Thoughtful owners left a carton milk in the fridge to enjoy with coffee and the stunning view from the porch. Sheep wandering on the premisis bring a relaxing farm feel. At night the sky is filled with stars, as the farm is located further away from town. Conveniently close to Clarens, but just far enough from Clarens to be able to appreciate the quietness and beauty of nature. When visiting the area, I would definitely book at Dunelm again 🙂

Lovely game farm situated ideally in the beautiful Clarens region. Modern self-catering chalets are very neat, clean and hygienic. Lovely views are offered by the surrounding mountains and sandstone cliffs. Treat yourself to the experience of a lifetime at peaceful and serene Dunelm Guest Farm.

We stayed 4 nights, what a nice place! Chalet is really nice, lovely farm and specially friendly family who own and runs the place. Well situated between Clarens and Foeriesburg. The place to stay if you visit Clarens. They are bike friendly, and we love it. Certainly will recommend a stay here to anybody
