Beautiful weekend getaway for 2 in the garden apartment (103). Close to restaurants, shops and right across from the ocean. Loved the wood fired hottub and bathtub. Would love to return.

The apartment is beautiful. I stayed at 17 marine drive Hermanus 104 (Garden apartment). I particularly loved the spa bathtub it gave me the treatment I needed as I was on leave. The apartment is also close to restaurants and the ocean, so you get the opportunity to wine, dine, and talk walks while experiencing the sea breeze. The views are immaculate I will never get over my experience at 17 Marine Hermanus - Luxury Holiday Apartments.

We had an amazing time staying here! The place was clean & centrally located (walking distance) to Hermanus town. Note that the "a" apartments are the back part of the flat with a limited view. We stayed in 202a (vs 202 which will have a full-on & unobstructed sea view !

The hospitality we received from Elaine was exceptional, very considerate and accommodating, we really got a sense that she loves welcoming people to their amazing property! We had the pleasure of staying in their garden suite, with has a braai stand that woke my inner Pretorian 😍 #lekkerBraai The apartment is kitted with everything you need to staycate and Hermanus itself has everything you need to vacate, we will DEFINITELY be back!

apartment 101 We go to Hermanus quite often, and decided on 17 Marine drive - privately owned apartments but hosted by "back in town". Parking is numbered, with 2 vehicles per apartment, but not next to each other which is strange - but don't think it's ok to park with a suv and bigger - it just doesn't fit when other cars are already parked - Your doors/sides will be knocked. The lifts don't work (perhaps switched off due to load shedding - but nobody informs you). Fridge doesn't stay "closed" properly - it pops open every now and then. Tap in kitchen: Hot water pressure almost non existent on the mixer. No blue kitchen cloths for wiping or washing. Only white cotton drying cloths. No steak knives for braaing, cutting meat etc, so beware if you decide you need to cut your food, and the bread knives don't "cut it ". Not enough places to hang towels etc The light sensor in the main bathroom toilet is pathetic. It goes on and off all the time. During load shedding, walking from the car to the room is in total darkness. No emergency/solar lights to guide you - its a matter of feeling your way. If you stay longer than 2 nights, make sure you request enough dishwasher tablets, towels etc as it's not automatically given. The main tv has a cracking sound from the speakers which is highly annoying. Toilet flush buttons in spare room also worn out. Only bigger button works but by pushing hard. The first morning on our way to the car, we bumped into the host (Elaine - she works for back in town), I asked her when do we get fresh towels etc (we stayed for 4 nights - she wasn't going to automatically as she was under the impression we were there for 2 nights) She said she had her own key so she will quickly get some more put in the room while we are out. We came back a few hours later, and while we were there relaxing, the host opened up (without knocking) with her own key (we could have been walking around naked / in underwear etc). That was really bad. Every now and then we could smell a scent of sewerage through the whole apartment, which is terrible. Views are good, and apartments are spacious but for this amount of money, and these snags you can get better within walking distances.

The best views and i must say the lady that helped us and gave the keys. She helped us with places to visit etc. They are professional and clean all around. Very modern and they even put out flowers on request. A must go to place. Brilliant service

If there was a perfect getaway place, it would be 17 Marine. Situated next to the beach so you always get your fresh ocean breeze, and you are literally a stone throw away from Fick's for your sundowners with friends. Definitely coming back
