Penguino Guesthouse

Our stay at the Penguin Guesthouse was truly exceptional and far exceeded all our expectations. From the very first moment, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and kindness that we immediately felt at home. The hospitality is simply outstanding and reflects the passion and dedication of the hosts. The location is absolutely perfect — peaceful, beautiful, and ideal for enjoying the surroundings. It’s the kind of place where you instantly relax and wish you could stay longer. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the breakfast. Every single morning was a new delight, prepared with incredible care, creativity, and love. Each dish felt special, fresh, and thoughtfully presented — you could really taste the effort and heart that goes into it. Everything about the guesthouse reflects attention to detail and a sincere desire to make guests feel comfortable and happy. Experiences like this are rare and truly memorable. If it were possible, we would gladly give 10 out of 5 stars. A perfect place that we would recommend to anyone without hesitation, and we hope to return one day.

Lovely stay, we highly recommend it! The room was comfortable and up to expectations, hostess Nikki was warm and welcoming, and we had the best and most beautiful breakfast of our trip in South Africa.

We had a lovely stay here - our room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. A quiet place after a busy day of sightseeing (and there is a lot to see in Hermanus and surrounds, all walkable from the Guesthouse). We were welcomed warmly, given lots of tips about where to go. The pool and garden were a nice addition. Breakfast was outstanding - lots of fresh food, choices and all very delicious. If travel takes you to Hermanus, I would highly recommend staying here. I write reviews as if I am letting a good friend know what a place is like, so 5 stars isn't automatic. It's a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed at the Penguino Guesthouse and it was lovely—quiet, relaxed. Our room was spacious and clean. Hosts Stefan and Nikki were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was excellent, one of the best we’ve had. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay - thank you for the fond memories in Hermanus! Excellent brekkie hosted by the wonderful Stefan, and Nikki welcomed us in with open arms. They offered great local recommendations for things to do and where to eat / enjoy a drink.

Absolutely amazing couple managing this property, we couldn't have chosen a better place. The owners are kind, sensitive and thoughtful and most of all gracious hosts. We had a great time chatting with them and they gave very helpful recommendations for dinner and sight seeing. There is free parking and the hotel is very well located. Breakfast was an absolute delight and that.home made fig jam with brown toast was yum. We got a very good vegetarian breakfast and loved the pancake. The room was nice and had all we needed. They have two wonderful and friendly dogs... so very adorable.

We had a fantastic stay at Penguino Guest House! The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring the local area, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
