AfriCamps at Stanford Hills

First time at an Africamp, and it didn’t disappoint! We took our dog, which was a great inclusion. I can assume that every tent is the same and hence the quality can be guaranteed at all locations. This location wasn’t quite remote enough for us, but very pleasant. The hot tub didn’t need the 4 bags of wood we were advices to purchase! It heated really fast and held the heat well.

The facilities on site are amazing. Lots to do for nature lovers(walks, hikes, fishing, dam to swim in).||The onsite restaurant and wine tasting are great. They catered for 25 of us and it all went very smoothly. the food at the restaurant was amazing. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area too. We took a trip out to see the klipgat caves(a must) and then into Stanford town, then the next day to Hermanus. Suggest to try and pick a weekend without heavy wind though as it's hard to sleep in the tents as they flap around alot, But it sounds alot worse than it is. The tents are very sturdy. We had 2 nights of heavy wind. You do however get used to it on the second night. They could also improve on the braai packs, they are very underwhelming.

Not the best stay at Africamps Stanford. We ordered the braai basket, I requested 2 vegetarian and 1 meat option.. The steak was grey and looked like it had been around for sometime, the veggie stuff tasted like kids chicken nuggets and the one veggie sausage was Inedible. The 3 salads were just lettuce with some tomato thrown in. No dressing provided. Most of the food was thrown in the bin. Take your own food Don’t order the brai basket. I have asked to be refunded but Africamps have refused. Very poor customer service. Parts of fridge Internally were broken making it impossible to place bottles in there. The ice box door was missing and very iced up. The shower constantly dripped. The solar lighting outside didn’t work making it all most possible to see or cook outside. The solar lighting along the tracks to the tents don’t work either.

Glamping and a little more at its best. We had everything we needed to make the weekend an enjoyable and comfortable one with awesome on site amenities. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds, bedding was just 😍- slept so good! My son could not get out of the hot tub, highlight of the evenings under the stars. Will definitely repeat this stay🙌🏾 in 2026.

Stanford Africamps was lovely. Not too far outside of Cape Town. The actual tent was better than imagined. All amenities were lovely, hot showers, neat bathroom, clean linen and a kitchen with most utensils to have a decent cook up / braai. The highlight was the hot tub on the deck, after around 2hours of fire, the tub was lovely. The staff were great, helpful and informative. The restaurant on site served a killer seafood pizza worth trying for lunch. Definitely planning our next one.

We loved the experience! A great getaway for friends and family. Quick drive to all the Stanford fun! Pet friendly too.

Stanford Hill is well situated and has lovely views. The tents are adequate and reasonably kitted out. The fridge is far too small for an stay of longer than 2 nights. While advertised for 5 people, I would not suggest that a group of friends should be more than 4 people. I would recomment it for a weekend stay
