The General Store Boksburg

Bought 2 x LED light's which the packaging states has a 25 year life time. Not anticipating any problems I discarded the receipt. Within 2 weeks 1 x light stopped working. Went back to the store and the manager claimed that it was an old light and I was trying to deceive him. A staff member confirmed that I had purchased the lights from them. However, the manager was very rude and started shouting. He has now lost a regular customer. I could have bought the lights at a similar price from Leroy Merlin and would not have had any issues as they can track your purchases and receipts with your phone number. Hope this review helps others to make better choices on where they shop.

Bought a travel bag and it broke after the first use. The bag was not even full or overweight. They refuse to replace or refund the bag of R1050.

Anything you looking for in the after market space, fair prices and their products has lasted me in a same manner as those for know departmental shops that are slightly higher on pricing. Bought under counter USB rechargeable lights, works perfect and they are compact sleek and stylish.

Like Dubai they got it all for your household goods, good prices too but not that keen to bargain with but all and all they are affordable. They got paintings to cutlery, lights plugs and tools .

First time I have been here and man, am I glad I went! This shop has just about everything. Stationary, toys, educational toys, lighting, electronics, arts and crafts, electrical, home and bath. There is a great variety and what's nice is that you're not constantly followed around by an attendant like in the smaller stores. And the prices are good too. Sanitizer upon entry and a sign stating "no mask, no entry".

Lost of variaty to choose from, only drawback is that not all items is priced, so looking for a item's takes a long time because there is not enough staff, ans when you do see one there is a bit of a language barrier

Cheap products for gifts at a budget and for parties. Similar in the type of store as Mr Panda or China Mall. Spacious aisles. Sufficient stock. Well displayed.
