Dr Lo-An is an angel sent from above! After 2 consults with another ophthalmologist in Johannesburg who had no empathy or urgency for my furbabies only remaining eye, suggesting I come back 10 days after the original consult. By then my boys eye pressure had sky rocketed and he already starting losing his vision. I was told to try some other drops and if it doesn’t look better in another 5 days he would most likely lose his eye. You would think that a specialist would advise you to test the eye pressure more frequently than 10 days later especially when your baby only has 1 eye! Needless to say, I will never return to that practice! I consulted Dr Lo as a 2nd opinion leaving a message with her brother (my current vet) on a Friday evening to please call me as we were on a race against time to reduce the eye pressure. She called me on Saturday morning to advise me on hourly medication (as opposed to 3 times a day suggested by the other ophthalmologist) even before my appointment to see her. She didn’t even charge me for the virtual consult. Unfortunately due to the incompetence and lack of urgency of the previous ophthalmologist, my boy had already lost most of his sight. Dr Lo goes over and above for her patients, even offering to administer my boys hourly drops when he went for his MRI. I could not recommend her more! Thanks to her, my boy didn’t need to have his 2nd eye removed. Thank you for your expertise, empathy and kindness Dr Lo! You are greatly appreciated!
We took our labrador Katinka to Dr Lo-Ann. Katinka is diabetic and blind. Dr Lo-Ann was amazing and professional. We feel extremely comfortable and looking forward starting Katinka's recovery with Dr Lo-Ann. This is going to be life changing for Katinka
I made use of the puppy training "service" and what an amazing experience. Sascha is excellent with the puppies and really a good teacher for owners. After each session there is a document that reminds you what to practice with the pups in the coming week, confirming what they were taught in the session. This has been such a great experience for us as owners and the puppies had lots of fun. I never though teaching puppies could be this "easy" (it does take patience!) . I would really recommend Sascha!!
Very professional and friendly. Explained the symptoms and possible actions for my pet. I can highly recommend them.
Zeus underwent an emergency cornea graft operation three weeks ago. The corena ulcer developed post his IVDD surgery. This took place at another practice. Zeus was examined by three Opthamologists in the last three weeks and their closing statements was to remove the eye. For this reason I seeked alternative options and found Dr Lo-An. Dr Lo-An examined him today and she is confident with the correct home-care and follow-ups to ensure Zeus's eye pressure remains stable, it will heal up nicely (not discounting the fact that he could have impaired vision) but from the feedback received last week vs. today, it is worlds apart. Dr. Lo-An is kind, gentle, caring, empathetic and she is informative. She talks through the process delicately. Zeus's favorite eye doctor by far. Thank you, have a blessed week.
Dr Lo-Ann was so kind, patient, gentle with my dogs. She is so knowledgeable. I highly recommend!
Great Vet animal eye specialist. Very thorough with the examination, explained all things in an understandable way to a lay person. Made our dog feel very safe whilst having his eyes checked. A very professional practice indeed!
