What a wonderful and caring team of people! They took such great care of our staffie throughout his illness and post-surgery, and phoned me with updates every day. All of the staff members were so friendly and showered him with cuddles every time we came in for follow ups. They also made a real effort to help keep the costs down. We thought we would need a second mortgage to pay the bill as he had a couple of long stays, but it only came to about half as much as we expected! I cannot recommend them enough, would give ten stars if I could!

Ongoing lack of care and communication We used this vet on and off for many years. In isolation, the veterinarians and staff are often friendly and pleasant, and potentially very good at what they do. However, friendliness does not replace proper care, compassion, follow-through, or coordinated treatment as a practice. Over more than twelve years, this never improved — regardless of which vet was on duty or even with the same reception staff. There was no real sense of ownership or effort to improve the overall experience, despite us trying to be understanding and accepting that mistakes happen. Most recently, during a difficult time with our elderly dog, important medication was not communicated or dispensed, and there was no follow-up to enquire for us to collect. This unfortunately reflects the broader pattern we experienced over the years. Care does not stop when a pet leaves the consulting room. While some experiences may be positive when pets are admitted, the more common consult-based visits lacked continuity, follow-through, and compassion. Even when we conveyed our disappointment after incidents, we were never once contacted by the practice to follow up or address our concerns — everything was simply left at reception. We genuinely tried and gave this practice every opportunity to show improvement and earn our trust. We now know better and will no longer be supporting them. We understand we are just one customer among many, but every pet owner wants to know their pet truly matters to the people caring for them — not just that they are treated and billed. We ultimately sought care elsewhere and experienced a completely different level of teamwork and compassion.

I can’t recommend this vet highly enough. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by an incredibly friendly and professional front desk team who always provide excellent service and make you feel valued and supported. The atmosphere at the practice is warm, calm, and reassuring — which really helps ease any anxiety when bringing a pet in. The vets and the veterinary sisters are both exceptional: caring, gentle, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about animal welfare. They took the time to explain everything clearly, treated my pet with so much kindness, and made me feel calm and confident that my pet was in the best hands. Overall, the service is outstanding from start to finish. A truly compassionate, professional, and trustworthy team — I wouldn’t take my pet anywhere else.

As an animal sanctuary I spend a lot of time at this veterinary clinic, because I have a lot of animals. The staff from the front desk, the veterinarians, nurses, clinic and kennel caregivers to the practice manager are warmhearted and friendly. Took my cat here on Friday after having a terrible experience at a different vet. Pierre van Ryneveld Veterinary Clinic will definitely be my go to vet from now on. They are so caring and loving and gentle with the animals. The vet that helped my cat, Lielie, she was absolutely amazing, she really listened to me and explained everything throughly. She took such good care of my cat and helped my cat sooo much. My cat even got herself a little fan club at the vet now. Really recommend taking your fur babies here, from reception to the vets you can just feel and see the love and passion they have for their jobs & the animals. 10000/10
