Protea Farm - Tractor Rides and Potjie Kos Lunch

Unforgettable Experience: Tractor Tour at Protea Farm! Our tour at Protea Farm was absolutely fantastic and definitely one of our highlights in South Africa. If you are anywhere near Montagu, this is a must-do! Why we loved it: • Pierre and his wife Karen: Pierre led the tour with so much passion and humor, making everyone feel welcome immediately. A special mention goes to Karen, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. She is the heart of the hospitality there and made us feel right at home. • Spectacular Nature: The views from the top of the mountains are breathtaking! The colors of the flora and the landscape were simply spectacular. • Great Atmosphere: We met so many lovely people on the tractor – the vibe was warm and friendly from start to finish. • The Food: After the tour, we enjoyed a meal that was absolutely delicious. A huge plus: There were great options for vegetarians! Everything was prepared with so much care. Conclusion: A perfect day with wonderful people, stunning scenery, and great food. A big thank you to Pierre&Karen, and the entire team for this memorable experience! We highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling through South Africa!

Was an amazing outing. Definitly something to do atleast once. Very affordable and the staff is super friendly. The cabin on the mountain is beautiful. Afterwords we had a great lunch in the forest with the best moer koffie. Would 100% reccomend!

Must-do experience. The farm owner himself drives the tractor high up in the mountain. It's a beautiful, scenic experience and with a little muskadel wine at the top. The Traditional potjiekos was delicious. Book in advance

You’re welcomed with a smile. Cold drinks and water for sale at departure point. Bring a hat for the sun. Everybody helpful. Spectacular views while driving up. You can even see Robertson and McGregor from the top. Arangieskop is majestic. Proteas along the way are beautiful. POTJIEKOS is a definite must do!!! I went back for seconds. Loved everything they served. Best vetkoek - light and airy with homemade apricot jam! Will book again.

This experience was incredible even the drive to the farm provides spectacular views. Everything was well organised from start until the end. From the moment we got seated on the tractor the excitement starts to build and keeps on building. The views are unforgettable throughout the drive with so much to see and absorb. Information about the farm and surroundings was shared as we stopped at the halfway point and received some apricots to taste. Reaching the top a shot of sweet wine was provided at the cabin on top of the mountain. (Very special!!) The lunch at the end didn’t disappoint and I can strongly recommend including this option to conclude a memorable day.
