Hands down the best Vet I have ever met. He is straight forward and very passionate about his work. I would reccommend him to anyone. We drove from Mokopane to Polokwane every day for 5 days while he was treating our precious four legged child. Better treatment for our dog we will not be able to find anywhere else. We will make the drive again and again if we need to. Thank you Dr. for always giving us proper updates and treating our dog with so much love and compassion.

Most amazing Vet there is. His Compassion nd professionalism knows no bounds. Doesn't try and make money out of you. 100% there for the animals, which is what matters most. He's Never too proud to make a phone call to other vet specialists to enquire on procedures and treatments if hes unsure, wish there were more professionals like him around!

If I could give a zero star rating I would. On the 7 July 2025, my family member, my cat, and I experienced profoundly unprofessional and dismissive conduct from Dr. Xander. When we sought information regarding our cat's pain relief and care, our questions were met with rudeness, dismissiveness and a complete lack of compassion, causing significant distress. Not sure if this was because we are black because from other reviews here,it seems to have happened to non-black customers as-well. Still so confused on what would make that man act that way.. This encounter stands in stark contrast to the positive care we previously received from a different, younger male veterinarian at the clinic. While the receptionist was very professional and friendly throughout our visit, she appeared to be under duress when witnessing the doctor's inappropriate behavior on our exit. Despite her evident discomfort with the situation, she was unable to offer us sympathy or explanation and this is understandable as she seemed to be under duress Due to this distressing experience, we immediately sought veterinary care elsewhere. We cannot recommend Dr Xander and his services for compassionate animal care.

We’ve been loyal clients of Wolkberg Dierekliniek for many years and have always appreciated the friendly and helpful staff. However, our recent visit with Dr. Xander was deeply disappointing. Despite having an appointment, we had to wait over half an hour before being seen. When we finally got in, Dr. Xander showed no interest in hearing my concerns about our puppy and kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain. His tone was dismissive, and I left the consultation feeling belittled and unheard. To make matters worse, he handed me back my puppy’s immunization card and simply told me to leave, without any explanation or reassurance. As a long-standing client, I expected much better. I’m saddened to say that because of his attitude, we will no longer be returning. I've also heard similar complaints from others about his manner, which suggests this isn’t an isolated incident. Wolkberg Dierekliniek deserves better representation, and I hope this feedback encourages a reassessment of how clients are treated—especially by Dr. Xander.

These guys saved my baby. They are awesome and did I mention they saved my baby? Great quality service comes at a decent cost, but the cost couldn't save my baby and they did. Top of the range equipment "Well at least it looked top" and the experience that can only come from loving what you do. Ohh yeah and they saved my baby too. The doctors are thorough in their diagnosis and because of that, my baby made it past 3 months, he is now 10 months and going strong... Thanks for saving my baby.
