McKaynine Delta

Beginning to see a trend based on other reviews on here. Addy the dog trainer is terribly unprofessional, uncouth and does not have common sense or manners. I experienced her shouting at me as though I was incompetent. Our puppy also has a very calm personality but definitely shy of other people and dogs. Within a minute, we were told that we need to take her to behavior classes (which costs a lot more and is done by the trainer). This was even after the trainer said that the aim for today is to feed your puppy and they should eat. Not only did my puppy eat but she sat and focused and ate multiple times. The trainer then asked me to put the food on the grass in front of her to see if she'll eat. I did so and she quickly found it and ate it. She passed all the tests for assessment. I feel that we were singled out and treated very badly. The tone and articulation of the trainer was as though she was born and brought up somewhere in the bush. Definitely will not recommend.

We had a bit of a shaky start but the owner, Shannon, got in touch with us directly and really went above and beyond to rectify which we really appreciated. The training itself is great, we had Therese as an instructor and absolutely love her. She's really informative and patient.

We were excited to take our 7 month old puppy for basic obedience training and let her experience this with other dogs. Our puppy is very calm by nature and therefore a bit shy. However, the trainer concluded upon first sight that the puppy is not socialized and requires behavioral training. Even after we showed how focussed our puppy is by demonstrating some self-taught commands (in a strange environment with surrounding dogs), we were not invited to attend the classes. We left feeling we have made the wrong choice with our puppy and with no guidance on how to better whatever is "wrong" with our puppy. We love our dog and will find someone else who is not expecting a perfect 7-month old dog to train. That is, don’t waste your time going for the assessment unless your dog is already trained.

Our happy place! McKaynine Delta has excellent instructors and the variety of classes are only growing. Love the open communication between management, instructors and fellow classmates and the professional manner in which the school is run. 🙂

We really enjoyed training our dog with McKaynine, we learned invaluable lessons like heel training and positive training exercises. Our instructor was very friendly and well informed, id recommend it to anyone who needs to train their dog or family how to interact with their dog.

Training is excellent. Just started but lovely experience this far.
