Duke's Academy For Dogs

I cannot recommend Duke’s Academy for Dogs highly enough. I have a Rottweiler who really struggled to cooperate on her leash, which made walks stressful and limiting. After just eight weeks with Lindsay, the transformation was incredible. My dog now walks beautifully on the leash, stays focused, and is no longer easily distracted by her surroundings. The biggest milestone for me was being able to take her to Cape Town for a two-week holiday — her very first time travelling — something I honestly never thought would be possible before the training. Lindsay’s determination, confidence, and belief in my dog never wavered. She truly saw my dog’s potential even when I doubted it myself. I am so grateful for her patience, skill, and commitment, and for giving me the freedom to enjoy life with a well-behaved, confident dog. Thank you, Lindsay, for everything you’ve done for us!

Joey stayed in the kennels for a total of 14 days over December. He was well looked after, loved and happy. Thank you Dukes for taking such good care of our beautiful boy.

For 7 years, my chocolate labrador, Kahlua, has looked forward to his visits to Dukes. One merely has to mention doggy daycare, and the tail starts to wag, and he is running to the car. So wonderful to see how happy he gets. May Dukes continue to go from strength to strength in making all dog's lives more fulfilled. Thank you Dukes for the dedicated attention you have given my Kahlua for so many years.

Lindsay is just absolutely brilliant with the pups and thanks to her expertise, patience and extensive knowledge we are making great progress with our fur baby! Would highly recommend to anyone with a dog!

Absolutely unprofessional. We paid R3000 (3 times more than the most expensive group class at Duke’s) for private home lessons because my mom’s work schedule is too hectic and she can’t really drive around much. Lindsay made countless excuses why she couldn’t make the scheduled appointments. We obliged every time Lindsay made her excuses to cancel time after time. A 7 week course was promised and paid for in full. After 3 cancellations back to back (3 out of 7 weeks were cancelled so we have up), we had enough and asked for a refund. Lindsay refused and said refunds are not given. HOW CAN YOU REFUSE TO RETURN MONEY FOR SERVICES YOU NEVER PROVIDED??????? We were very gracious when Lindsay sent another request to cancel, every time we were understand. Eventually, we had had enough and then asked politely for a refund. We were then told no, refunds are not provided. Nowhere on the site does it say this, I’ve screenshotted everything on the site. Also, if we were responsible for cancellations we’d understand the reluctance to refund the money. But at R3000 for something you never provided…. That is theft!!! There are laws that protect consumers from FRAUD. And that’s what this is! FRAUD and THEFT!! Lindsay and Duke’s Academy for Dogs….Do the right thing! Refund us! We don’t deserve this. And you don’t deserve to keep the money when you did nothing but cancel and make excuses. There is another review here that says the same thing as what I’ve described here, so clearly this is a trend. Hopefully prospective clients rethink their choices and don’t finance this scam!!! Maybe the group classes are legit but seems these private home lessons are not. Absolutely appalled!!! GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!! We will take it further!! I have the texts proving who is responsible for this mess, I will post them if this isn’t resolved.

Lindsay and her staff are absolutely amazing! We have two English bulldogs who tend to require some extra work..they go above and beyond to make sure that the pups get the best experience out of day care. She is responsive and supportive and you can tell that the staff at Dukes academy for dogs are passionate about dogs. Would definitely recommend their day care 100%

3 years ago my hubby gave me dog training lessons as a birthday present. Best thing ever! I was hooked from day 1! Jake started with obedience and being a Beagle, needs lots of patience as he can be quite stubborn. Then we started agility. Omigosh sooo much fun! Throughout the years I have realised how much training I have needed, not Jake so much! Lindsay is extremely knowledgeable and is always willing to share her wisdom. She makes classes so much fun and makes sure that the classes are small enough for you to get individual attention. I thoroughly enjoy training with her.
