EberVet Pet Clinic

After a few very unfortunate experiences with vets in the area — where extreme fees were charged and there was little genuine care shown while my dog Scout was clearly in pain — a friend recommended Ebervet in Strand. That recommendation changed everything for us. I made an appointment for both my doggies’ yearly vaccinations and check-ups and immediately felt heard. I shared my concerns with the incredibly caring vet, who took them seriously and booked scans for a few days later. Sadly, that day brought difficult news: Scout was diagnosed with bladder stones and back disc problems, and my girl Leila was diagnosed with stage one kidney disease. What followed was one of the most uncertain and emotionally trying times of my life — yet every single person at Ebervet made it bearable. From the friendly ladies at the front desk to the vets and nursing staff, everyone showed genuine compassion, kindness, and support. Two months later, just before closing time, Leila suddenly became very sick. I phoned in absolute panic — and without hesitation, they waited for us. Unfortunately, her kidney disease had progressed to stage four. The vet was gentle, honest, and deeply compassionate. He gave me the space to make the decision and supported me through the most heart-wrenching moment of saying goodbye to my precious girl. The staff stayed after hours. They cried with me, hugged me, and showed a level of compassion that words truly cannot describe. I will forever be grateful that they were there for me during one of the hardest moments of my life. Scout now goes twice a month for his injections — and for the first time ever, he gets excited to go to the vet. He receives cuddles, treats, and so much love. This is the first vet practice I have ever been to where my dog is not shaking with fear, and for that alone I am beyond thankful. My new baby, Linka, has now started her journey at Ebervet Strand and she is already so loved. Visiting the vet has somehow become a highlight — even though my hardest day was spent there, and I know another one will likely come. But knowing the people there truly care, are compassionate, honest, and supportive, I know without a doubt that this is the right place for me and my doggies. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone at Ebervet Strand. You are extraordinary.

I had the most wonderful experience at Eber Vet Clinic in Strand. The staff are amazing and truly cares for each pet. Even though I had financial constraints the staff went out of their way to find a solution for my case. One tends to forget that medical care for your fur child is as expensive as your human child. Thank you so much Eber Vet for the care and understanding you gave me and Axil.

Took little pups for their first Vax and the staff were just so friendly and accommodating ❤️

My cat had his teeth cleaned today and while still very drunk from the anesthesia ^_^ he was well looked after and happy to be home. Small miscommunication with the bill, but the ladies were very professional and understanding, sorting it out, without issue. All round a great experience.

Very disappointing experience with EberVet Pet Clinic. My dog recently injured her paw and needed stitches. When I contacted EberVet for assistance afterward, hoping to receive care or advice from what I believed to be a clinic that genuinely cares about animals, I was simply turned away and told to go back to the original vet who did the stitches. No compassion, no willingness to assess the situation, not even basic guidance — just refusal to help. I understand clinics have protocols, but as a pet owner in distress, I expected at least some level of support or care. This experience left me feeling brushed off and uncared for. Sadly, I cannot recommend a clinic that refuses to help an injured animal when it matters most.

I recently took my dog to Ebervets to have a microchip removed. The consultation fee was already steep, but I was then quoted an open-ended price for the removal — starting at a minimum of R3,000 — despite the chip being easily located with a scanner. When I refused to accept an open-ended invoice, we collected our dog to find no visible signs of sedation, even though we had been billed for it. To make matters worse, the aggression directed towards my wife by staff was unprofessional and completely unacceptable. Very poor service overall. I cannot recommend this practice based on our experience.
