⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A compassionate farewell for our beloved Coco We recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our golden retriever, Coco, who was 15 years old. Her mind remained bright and present, but her body had grown too weary to carry her any further. It was one of the most difficult moments we've faced as a family. Kraaifontein Animal Hospital guided us through this painful experience with remarkable empathy and professionalism. From the moment we arrived, their team treated Coco—and us—with deep respect and gentleness. They understood the weight of the moment and never rushed us, allowing space for grief, reflection, and love. Their kindness helped transform a traumatic goodbye into a peaceful and dignified farewell. We are deeply grateful for their care and compassion, and we commend them for the grace with which they support families through such vulnerable times. Thank you, Kraaifontein Animal Hospital, for honoring Coco’s final chapter with the tenderness she deserved.

Absolutely no empathy — ZERO stars if I could. Sadly, there was just no empathy shown during my visit. If you consider your animals as your children and want them treated with genuine care and compassion, I would not recommend taking them here. I also have to agree with the previous reviewer, Jae Hendricks-Small — my experience was similarly disappointing. Truly horrible.

If I could do 0 stars I would.They have NO empathy for animals with anxiety and stress about being at the vet. No understanding for their feelings when they are scared around so many different smells and animals. Why did you guys choose to work with animals? If your fur baby means a lot to you please don’t go here.

If I could give 0 I would. Such a terrible experience with my pet dog. It was such an unfriendly atmosphere. We waited for nearly half an hour after our scheduled appointment and my pet was barely consulted for 5 minutes and the vet barely touched her. The vet and his assistant were both very unfriendly and I felt uncomfortable to ask any questions. It felt like I was being rushed out the door. I even cried due to the bad news I received but no empathy was shown whatsoever and to top it all off they weren’t gentle with my pet at all despite her pain. Not much advice was given. I feel like the visit was pretty much pointless. This vet is a definite no go. Then I’d rather travel further for a more pleasant experience and where the staff dealing with pets seem like they actually have a passion to treat animals and willingness to help them feel better or more at ease at least.

The care and support we received from staff (especially the receptionist) was exceptional. The VET on call provided us with all the information (in terms of cost, recovery expectations and care) and possible routes to follow. In the end we had to put our dog "to sleep" and they allowed us to fetch our kids and return later that day to say goodbye to her 💔. Greatful for the care and service we received. 🐾🐕🦴

0 stars if it was possible. We had an absolutely terrible experience at this vet clinic. We took our dog in for a skin issue—she was itchy, biting, and had scabs and raw spots all over her body. We tried to explain the problem to the vet, but he barely acknowledged us and seemed uninterested. When we asked him what he thought the issue might be, he simply said he couldn't tell us and suggested washing her three times a week. That was his "solution." We also asked if there were any creams or treatments to help with the raw spots, but he brushed it off and said there weren’t any, which didn’t make sense at all. We were desperate for some insight or a potential diagnosis, but every time we tried to ask a question, he seemed irritated and tried to rush us out the door. We had to keep pestering him just to get any kind of response, and honestly, he was rude and unhelpful the entire time. This wasn’t the first time we had a bad experience with him, but we gave him the benefit of the doubt previously. However, after this visit, we realized he’s just a rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional vet who clearly doesn't care about providing good service. To make matters worse, his assistant was rough with our dog during the visit, which only made things worse. We will not be coming back here. It's clear that this vet has no interest in actually helping pets with real issues. If you want compassionate care and answers for your pet, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere—even if you have to drive farther. This place is just not worth it.
