We had a serious matter on the 5th of October 2025, where our Scottish Terrier swallowed a bone by accident and it got stuck in its throat. We quickly rushed him to the vet to try and save our dog. The vet and staff were very professional and managed to remove the bone within 1 hour to save our doggie's life🙏👌👍 We are really grateful for your help🙏🙏🙏 The vet is open 24/7 to assist clients who have pets. There's also a lot of treats, medications and food that you can purchase for the animals 💊 👌🐕🐈

Do not take your animals to New South Veterinary Centre, see below mail I sent after my beautiful pup’s death and I am still waiting for a response. Dear Jackie, I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction regarding the treatment my dog, Santiago, received at your clinic on Saturday, January 17th. While I initially conveyed my concerns, I feel compelled to elaborate further on the multiple instances of negligence that occurred during his stay. Upon admission, I had to request that his bedding be changed twice: first at 1 o'clock when I noticed it was wet, to which Adolf laughed and said yes but he came here with a possible heat stroke, which might I add had been dealt with temperature wise at the Glens vet and he was no longer suffering from a high temperature and was starting to shiver from the wet bedding, and again at 6 o'clock when I found he had soiled himself. It is unacceptable that I had to advocate for such basic care. I even offered to provide whatever financial assistance I could to your staff in tips to ensure that Santiago received the attention he desperately needed. The overall atmosphere surrounding the care provided at your veterinary hospital is concerning. It appears that serious cases are not given the urgency they require, conveying a sense that animals are being left to suffer without adequate intervention. I repeatedly informed the staff and Adolf that my dog was struggling to breathe, yet nothing was done. He was left to suffocate in his cage on the same drip I brought him in with, and it wasn’t until six hours after his admission that he began to receive some form of attention with Adolf only then suggesting a blood test. Regrettably, I will never know if this is true that his drip was supposedly being changed at 19:30pm as I was informed by your nurse that I couldn’t visit after 7:00 PM. It would have been more humane to bring him home on the same drip and make him comfortable than to have left him at your veterinary clinic for nine hours, slowly suffocating and lying in his own feces due to negligence. Why was no oxygen provided sooner when I begged the staff to take note of his breathing? I took numerous videos during both visits to document his condition. I called in numerous times for updates on Santiago but received little to no communication about his status. I was only informed at 10 PM that his gums were blue and that they were just then attempting to administer oxygen. At that point, I was alarmed to hear your doctor state that they were "losing him." Tragically, just 20 minutes later, I received the heartbreaking news that he had died. So when your doctor goes into emergency surgery who monitors the other emergency cases like Santiago who was dying and could not breathe. Additionally, I found Adolf, the day duty doctor, to be extremely indifferent throughout this process. He only performed blood tests on my dog six hours after his admission, which is completely unacceptable for an animal in critical need of care. This level of negligence is utterly appalling. I brought my dog to your clinic in a critical state just before 13:00pm paying a R1500 deposit for urgent care, yet he was left unattended for 9 hours from the minute I brought him in until his last breath and in the evening the night shift doctor was occupied with surgery. It is unacceptable that it was only after my repeated calls for updates that I received feedback. I am furious that I was even phoned and expected to pay any sort of bill for such blatant negligence, where my dog was essentially watched dying while staff only attempted to help him in his final moments. I have documented videos of Santiago’s condition during both visits that I can provide as evidence of the level of care he received—or rather, the lack thereof. I am seriously considering taking this further. I have phoned the Glens vet and they are appalled at the treatment Santiago was given and regret referring me to you for the 24 hour care. Jackie has yet to respond to my email. This vet is cold and does not care about animals.

An excellent vet staffed by excellent doctors, nurses and support staff. We've taken our four cats there several times over the past year and we've had not one bad experience or interaction there. If it's not obvious, they are in fact a vetinary hospital and they have staff working around the clock (though they aren't a vetinary ICU). Considering their capabilities they are actually very reasonably priced as well.

What an anazing experiece as I have never really had any experience with Vets. From the moment you walk in you get greeted with friendly faces and care. Dr Ada took us in and showed a lot of care and compassion. After not even 12 hours after seeing Dr Ada and started our 4 week old yorkie on her meds she is running around and exploring. Thank you guys for the great assistance today and the care you show to you furry patients. We will definitely return should it be necessary in the future

Please Do NOT leave your animals in the care of New South Veterinary Centre!!!!. On the 22nd of January 2026 at 11:20 my husband and I were driving down biggersburg. We happened to see a white Sharpay running on the road. Our first instinct was to stop at New South Veterinary Centre because the dog was running near their premises. When I approached the glass door the attendant who was on duty confirmed that the dog had escaped from their care. There after they proceeded to stroll outside to fetch the dog. When asked why did they leave the dog outside they first claimed that the dog was left with them by its owners. My husband and I drove around Glenvista looking for the dog and trying to call him towards us whilst the attendants at New South Veterinary Centre went back into the building and locked the door. There then proceeded to call Fox security only because they were confronted that an animal had escaped from there premises. After an hour I called into the vet and spoke to the receptionist Jillian who then claimed that the dog was a stray. How does that make it right to leave an dog outside to run a stray. This is supposed to be a vet a safe place for animals however it doesn't seem so. They only willing to grant good service and attend to a sick or injured animal if you have the money to give them. New South Veterinary Centre you guys should not be open! If you working with animals it should be a passion to keep them safe and accounted for when in your care! And if you are lying about the animal being a stray trust that I'm going to take it upon myself to post this story on Facebook for people to see!.
