Knysna Waterfront is a well-developed area that offers a great mix of scenery, dining, and relaxed entertainment along the edge of the lagoon. The setting is beautiful, with views over the water and surrounding hills, making it a pleasant place to stroll, enjoy a meal, or simply sit and watch the boats come and go. There is a wide selection of restaurants and cafés catering to different tastes, as well as boutique shops, curio stores, and ice cream stands. Some of the restaurants and shops are on the pricier side. The waterfront atmosphere is vibrant without feeling overcrowded, especially outside peak holiday periods. There is easy access to boat cruises and lagoon activities. Parking is available nearby. Whether you are stopping for a quick coffee, enjoying a sunset dinner, or using the waterfront as a base to explore Knysna, it is a worthwhile visit and one of the town’s main attractions.
The energy around this Waterfront tells you: slow down and take in the scenery. This forms part of the city’s holiday-maker pulse, whether you fancy yourself sleeping in the boat on in one of the establishments around, your options are incredibly vast. Take a walk through its lazy shopping spaces for memorabilia.
Beautiful spot to eat and enjoy the view of the marina with its drawer-bridge for the boats to pass through. One of if not the most sheltered marinas in the world. Definitely worth a visit if you like yachts (and touristy shops or a good feed)
Very exciting to discover the beauty South Africa 🇿🇦 has to offer the landscapes which we don't often explore becomes your blank canvas by which you should become a tourist in your own country 😀
Knysna Waterfront is very popular as you will see a lot of international visitors shopping there or are there for lunch. We love the little chocolate shop and the gift boxes are awesome! The seafood restaurants are quite busy and there is a little outside coffee shop with seating outside against the water, that sell muffins that is definitely a must. Clothing shops are very reasonably priced. Book a trip on one of the boats especially the pirate ship as that is quite an experience!
Beautiful waterfront with stunning views, great restaurants, and relaxing vibes. A perfect spot for a walk, shopping, or enjoying seafood by the lagoon. Also a great starting point to explore nearby activities and attractions, with reasonable prices and plenty of parking. Don’t miss taking a boat tour around the area for an unforgettable experience
Knysna Waterfront is a small but lovely spot for a peaceful walk. I visited on a Sunday, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing, perfect for enjoying the views and taking a stroll along the water. However, when it comes to shopping, the prices were quite high and clearly targeted at tourists. While the shops and surroundings are beautiful, be prepared for tourist-level prices. Still, it's worth a visit for the scenery and the relaxing vibe.
