Dr Baker and his team are wonderful and have treated my English Bulldogs when other vets couldn't figure out what was wrong. I recommend Parktown North Vet to all of my friends and family.

I got my dog spayed at the spca because of inflated prices vets charge. When I called to inquire how much it would be to remove the stitches and sedate my dog because my dog wasn't receptive to being touched leave alone remove the stitches since they dont administer anesthetic at the spca. I called in, the person that answered just said R1000 and ive been going to this vet I know how everytime I go there theres always extra charges last year I took my dog to get her nails clipped the lady absolutely grabbed my dog from me with so much hostility when they took her to clip her nails all I could hear was crying from my dog. They came out and told me I need to pay R600 because she urinated and pooped and they had to wash her THEY RINSED HER!!!! I still had to give her a bath when she got home. Anyway I highly recommend Riverclub veterinary clinic i called this week to find out about the removal of the stitches they said R70 for tablets to calm her first if that dont work it will be R300 to sedate her. I was only charged R35-00 overall yes you read that right THIRTY-FIVE RAND!!!! Parktown veterinary clinic is overpriced and unprofessional.

Dr Rozelle was amazing with my babies. She was honest and so helpful with understanding what I was and was not obliged to do after my dog experienced an incident in a public place.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This clinic seems far more focused on making money than actually helping animals. I brought my dog in because he had a cut that needed stitches. From the moment I arrived, there were cats roaming freely around the facility, which in my opinion is very dangerous for a veterinary environment, where you don’t know who’s animals would be okay with that. The vet who saw us seemed unsure and lacked confidence in his assessment. Despite the relatively minor injury, he told me my dog would need to stay overnight for stitches — at a cost of over R5k That estimate felt extremely inflated, especially considering that it was just stitches. To make matters worse, I was asked to pay consultation fee (which I refused to pay) though the vet did next to nothing and gave me no clear information or treatment. May I add the receptionist is so rude and so unfriendly. Thankfully, I took my dog to another vet for a second opinion. He received the stitches there and was able to come home the same day — no overnight stay, and a fraction of the cost. I strongly advise others to be cautious and seek a second opinion before agreeing to anything here. This experience felt more like a money grab than genuine care.

This has been the worst experience ever. If you love your pet never take them here. It’s money, as in how much they can get from you without actually giving good care to your pet. First time I experienced them I was overcharged for sterilisation and my dogs looked so thin. New experience happened when I was out of the country and my other dog fell fractured a hip. Being forced to pay for bills that I wasn’t aware of after asking that everything be communicated before hand since I have previously been overcharged by them. On top of that I got my dog looking like he’s about to die of hunger. And the fracture not close to being healed. After 8 weeks of being kept in a cage, and me not being allowed to see him. These people shouldn’t be allowed to care for animals. Dr Baker and his staff that’s just as rude and inconsiderate as he is.

Brilliant diagnostic vet. Does not rush you to get expensive tests, unlike most vets. If it is needed, he explains possible diagnoses and why it is needed. Affordable. Animals trust all the staff. The grounds, with all its different animals and garden, is very calming.
