Visited Food Lovers Market today after a very long time as the quality of produce was not great years ago. What a pleasant surprise. The store is packed with fantastic produce. The apple crumble slices we bought was fresh and delicious. The pies was tasty. From fresh fruit, meat, chicken, fish, nuts, spices, cooked meals, fresh flowers, house plants, sushi, etc. We will go back more frequently again. I took some photos of the store, words is not enough to give you a idea...
🍞🥖🥨 There's so much deliciousness here, the temptation to buy more than you should is high! They have such a variety of breads, baked goods, etc!
Truly a disappointing experience. My second time visiting this Food Lovers and after my first visit I gave them the "maybe it's just month-end" benefit of the doubt but no, after today, it turns out it's just the norm. After a hugely marketing specials campaign I would day at least 30% of the products on special were out of stock and the other 70% had no sign on the items that were special along with no promotional catalogues at the entrance (like most FLMs) which obviously left everyone frantic and confused. Thank goodness the staff were available to clarify specials etc. Advertised opening times are 8am, so why are shelves still being packed at 10am with the main specials. Staff are more focused on chatting and having catch ups with each other then focusing on getting the store ready. The tills and check-out queues are extremely long with no clear indication of where the express till is. If the management sees this, please jack up on your service because even though your specials will bring customers in but if the quality, service and experience is weak then you will lose customers to your competitors.
Visited in Vanderbijlpark on Sunday 20 Dec 2025 after many years of not shoppingthere. Everything looked so good. Disappointed with the bread, as it was old and dry though it looked fresh. Bought 2 marinated spatchcock chickens with expiry dates of 26 Dec 2025. One was off and had to be thrown away. Fruit salad bowl looked fresh but was tasteless and already going off though the expiry date was 24 Dec. Won't be going back.
Why are the cream doughnuts consistently dry? And stale?????? Why?? Yho! 3rd time disappointed 😔
I recently visited the Food Lover's Market in Funnelbell Park and was quite disappointed with the experience. Despite seeing enticing specials advertised, the reality was quite different. For example, I arrived just before 1 PM hoping to get a bread combo special, but one of the key breads was not yet baked. When I inquired, I was told it would be out soon, which was surprising given the time of day. It would have been more reasonable to either have it ready or inform customers that it was sold out. Additionally, the store's cleaning staff blocked off an entire section of the produce aisle, making it difficult to access items like broccoli and cauliflower during peak hours. This kind of maintenance should ideally be done during quieter times to avoid inconveniencing shoppers. To top it off, I also bought tomatoes that were on special, but they seemed to have been previously frozen. When we got home, they were watery and mushy inside, which is not ideal for a fresh salad. Overall, I feel that the management could do a lot better in terms of stocking, service, and overall customer experience. I would consider shopping elsewhere, like at Checkers or Pick n Pay, where the service and product quality seem more reliable. I also wanted to mention that there was a special advertised for a certain brand of cream, which I specifically drove over to get. Upon arrival, I was informed that this particular brand isn’t available at this location and is only stocked at other branches. It was frustrating to drive all the way there only to find that they didn’t have what was promised.
What a warm atmosphere when you get here. Staff know when to approach for assistance or vise versa. That's very good CRM. No immediate questioning creating more confusion way before having collected own bearings within the center. Keep the performance tops
