Karoo National Park

What a breath of fresh air, coming from Nature's Valley Rest Camp chalets where the overall service received was terrible. At the Karoo National Park, we were welcomed by a friendly guard at the gate. Park entry was quick & efficient, he explained all concerns we had. At reception booking in, again was smooth, clear directions was given to our cottage. The ladies at the curio shop & restaurant were gems. The pool, night game drive, restaurant supper + breakfast, cottage was comfortable an amazing. This is the sort of place where travel memories are made. What a well-run tourist establishment, we will return!

Loved the game park and enjoyed lovely sightings despite the short visit. Cottage was clean & functional. Only problem was generator which is close to and noise funnels to nearby cottages in a very loud manner, as the door of the generator room, facing the cottage, is left open. Some soundproofing will be required. We were moved to a different cottage on request and the reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Awesome place to experience the Karoo, close to Beaufort West, lovely chalets and camp areas, great self drive routes available, most animals viewable from the start except lions and rhino, which are normally found at the back of the park. 4x4 vehicle advisable for those routes. Park has a shop selling basic amenities, curio shop and a nice restaurant. All in all a great experience.

We stopped over at Karoo National Park on our way back from Mountain Zebra, for a night's camp. Not our first time there, but definitely one of our best visits. Reception was friendly and welcoming. We had dinner at the restaurant; the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We embarked on the 43km self game drive, almost turned back due to the bad corrugations on the road, but luckily decided to continue, as the second half of the drive was stunning. Lots of wildlife and beautiful views. My advice would be to do the route counter-clockwise to do the best part first and then perhaps turn around. The camp site was fine, with shade but no grass. The ablutions are superb, with ample space, decent showers and very well maintained and clean! The pool area has plenty of shade and grass. We will be going back there more often.

Beautiful National Park with great service and a majestic wild park that will egnite the adventure side of you. Clean park with good camping sites. Wild game is easy to find by car and shiny sparkling stars at night. It's great for family and adventurous nature lovers.

Great setting to relax a day or two. Can be self catering or eat at the restaurant. Vegetation sparse so don't expect large herds of buck. Informative fossil walk

Awesome place to visit for peace and quiet and the beautifull view from the chalets is breathtaking The service and food is execellent and you can relax admire the sunset, watching different animals coming in for a drink.
