Riverside Pet Shop

Beware of dealing with this unscrupulous shop! We took our 2ft long, 50cm high fish tank in to the store to ask for a suitable internal filter pump. The man serving us examined our tank and advised that based on the height of our tank we needed a CS-1000 pump. We took his expert advice and bought the R400 pump, only to arrive home, fill our tank and discover that it is exponentially too powerful for our tank. Our fish were literally cowering in the corner, trying to escape the vicious current. Begrudgingly, we had to take it all the way back to the shop, only to be told that because we had put it in the water, he would not exchange it for the correct size. I explained that we bought it based on HIS advice and because he got it wrong, we believe it only fair that he exchange it. He refused again and insisted that it was the correct size for our tank. I then found a small graph on the side of the box which stated that a CS-1000 is suited to a 1.1 meter high tank! A 50cm high tank like ours requires the much smaller (and cheaper) CS-400. His incorrect information has led to us buying a much more expensive, far too powerful pump, which we had to return to the shop in order to exchange, only to be unjustly denied this, and leave with the same pump which is now useless to us. The very least he could have done was exchange it and apologised.

Such a friendly shop. And always so helpful. Would recommend this pet shop to anyone.
