I recently purchased a guinea pig from Guinea Pig Family SA. When we arrived, the lady was sitting outside with the guinea pigs in a crate and was applying something to them to prevent fleas. While I understand the importance of care, I was very concerned by the lack of transparency about how the guinea pigs are kept, what they are fed, and their overall living conditions. For comparison, we recently purchased another guinea pig, an Abyssinian, from a pet store. He has never needed such treatments and is noticeably more active than the guinea pig from Guinea Pig Family SA. This raises serious concerns about the health and wellbeing of the guinea pig we purchased. I strongly urge the breeder to provide clear pictures and videos online showing their breeding setup, cages, diet, and general care practices. Buyers need this information to make informed decisions and ensure the animals are properly looked after. Animals deserve proper care and transparency, and I hope this feedback motivates the breeder to share more about their practices for the safety and wellbeing of future guinea pigs.
This has been such an amazing experience, Guinea pig family SA is the best. We got our 2 new furry babies this weekend, as first time owners we were clueless but the owner was absolutely amazing in educating us on the do's and dont's, she did follow ups with me making sure all is going well. Our new furry babies are happy and healthy 🥰 a big thank you to you.
